On PC, the cheat that reveals every map marker in Skyrim is tmm 1, entered in the in-game console. It makes the markers appear on your map. It does not visit, clear, or complete the places it reveals, and it does not work the same way on console controllers. Type tmm 0 to hide the markers again.
How to show all map markers on PC
- Press the tilde key (
~) on your keyboard to open the console. Bethesda Support’s console-access instructions specify this keyboard key. - Type
tmm 1and press Enter. - Press
~again to close the console, then open your map. Every marker the game holds for the world should now be visible. - To hide the markers, reopen the console, type
tmm 0, and press Enter.
What the command changes and what it does not
tmm controls marker visibility only. Seeing a marker on the map is not the same as travelling to that place, and the command does not mark a location as cleared or complete. Those are separate game states, and tmm 1 leaves them untouched.

That distinction matters for the way people use the phrase “unlock all locations.” If your goal is simply to see where places are, tmm 1 does that. If your goal is to have every location recorded as visited or cleared, the command does not provide it; the separate setlocationcleared command covers location-cleared status and is discussed below.
Platform and version scope
The tmm command appears in a third-party Skyrim command reference, which lists its commands for PC and Mac. Bethesda’s console-access instructions describe the tilde key on a keyboard. Bethesda’s Creations Update patch notes for Skyrim Special Edition describe PC console improvements, including added commands and customizable console layout files. Those notes confirm that the PC console is a maintained feature, but they do not list tmm syntax, so the exact command should be taken from the command reference rather than the patch notes.
#1 Best Overall
- Skyrim reimagines the open-world fantasy epic, pushing the game play and technology of a virtual world to new heights
- Play any type of character you can imagine, and do whatever you want; the legendary freedom of choice, storytelling
- Skyrim's new game engine brings to life a complete virtual world with rolling clouds, rugged mountains, bustling cities, lush fields
- Choose from hundreds of weapons, spells, and abilities; the new character system allows you to play any way you want
- Requires internet connection and free steam account to activate
No built-in equivalent for Xbox or PlayStation is documented in the sources available for this guide, so do not expect the same keyboard-based process on controller platforms. Behavior in other Skyrim editions or with mods installed is not established here, and mods that change the map or console may behave differently.
Save and achievement warning
Read this before you type anything. Bethesda Support states: “Activating a console command by pressing the ~ key will put the entire game into Developer Mode, causing any further save progress to be flagged as developer-only.”
Rank #2
Bethesda’s guidance advises moving the existing save and restarting the game to continue without Developer Mode. Save a copy of your current game in a separate folder before experimenting with any console command, so you can return to an unflagged save if you need to.
Bethesda’s Steam achievements support page says achievements do not unlock while console commands are enabled. It also says that rebooting the game and Steam will typically re-enable achievements. That is a typical outcome, not a guarantee, and a restart does not by itself remove the developer-only flag from a save that has already been affected.

Related console commands
These commands are often confused with the marker cheat. The table lists what each one does according to the command reference and Bethesda’s documentation.
| Command | What it does | Notes |
|---|---|---|
tmm 1 / tmm 0 |
Shows or hides all map markers | Documented for PC and Mac in the third-party command reference; changes visibility only |
coc [cell editor ID] |
Teleports the player to a named cell, for example coc whiterun |
Some cells may depend on quest setup; coc qasmoke goes to a developer test room |
setlocationcleared |
Sets a location’s cleared status | A separate function from displaying markers; do not treat it as a substitute for tmm 1 |
unlock |
Unlocks a selected locked object | Not a map-marker command |
The practical difference is between map visibility and teleportation. tmm changes what appears on the map, while coc moves your character to a specified cell.

If the command does not seem to work
- The console does not open: Confirm you are on PC and pressing the tilde key on a keyboard. The sources available here do not document a controller-based console process.
- You are unsure of the exact command name: Type
helpin the console for a complete command list, as Bethesda’s console-access instructions advise. - Markers still do not appear after
tmm 1: Check the spelling and spacing of the command. The sources available here do not describe a further fix for this case. - Achievements are not unlocking: Console commands being enabled can block them. Reboot the game and Steam, as Bethesda’s Steam achievements page describes, and remember that this does not guarantee a flagged save is restored.
