There are five naturally hidden Cuddlefish Eggs in Subnautica. Three are tied to biomes: caves in the Northeastern Mushroom Forest, caves in the Northwestern Mushroom Forest, and the Dunes Sinkhole. Two are tied to story locations: the Deep Grand Reef Degasi Seabase and the Lost River Laboratory Cache. The Lost River cache is the only one with a stated entry requirement, an Orange Tablet.
The five egg locations
The table below lists each egg by location type, the landmark or area it is described with, and whether the available guide coverage states an entry requirement. Where an entry requirement is not stated, that means the sources do not name one, not that none exists.

Lost River Laboratory Cache
This is the most specific of the five locations and the only one where a gate is documented. Follow these steps:
- Travel to Ghost Canyon in the Lost River.
- Carry an Orange Tablet. The cache will not open without one.
- Enter the cache. The Cuddlefish Egg sits on a workbench at the far right of the cave.
The Deep Grand Reef Degasi Seabase is the only location in the sources tied to an Orange Tablet, since its listing notes the base contains one. The sources do not state whether that tablet is needed for any other location.

Limits of the location data
The sources describe the three biome eggs by area name rather than exact position, and they do not establish verified coordinates for all five eggs. Use the landmarks in the table to search, and check any coordinates you find against your game version, since the sources do not specify which version their directions were written for.
Route times and safety comparisons between locations are not established by the available sources.
