You need Bounty Pack 2 and the Borderlands 4 base game. If you have both, track “The Cursed Mine,” follow its main path to the far end of the map, and the Stone Demon is waiting there.
Where the Stone Demon is
The Stone Demon does not sit in the open world. It is the boss at the end of The Demon’s Domain, and it is the final encounter of the Bounty Pack 2 storyline. The route is documented in the Mobalytics Borderlands 4 guide by Ratore, last updated March 4, 2026, and it matches the official Bounty Pack 2 product description, which says the mission ends in a final boss and includes three minibosses before it.

Route to the boss
- Confirm that Bounty Pack 2 is installed and active on your account. The mission will not appear without it.
- Start the side mission “The Cursed Mine.” The guide begins its instructions at this mission, and the official update notes do not describe what triggers it, so if it is not in your quest log, see the troubleshooting section below.
- Follow the mission’s main path through the map. The guide describes this as a single direct route rather than a set of optional branches.
- Continue to the end of the path in The Demon’s Domain. The Stone Demon is the final boss there.
Access requirements
Bounty Pack 2 is paid downloadable content, and the base game is required to play it. The PlayStation Store listing for the PS5 version (dated September 10, 2026) states: “Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon is part of the Bounty Pack 2* content, and can be purchased individually (base game required).” Borderlands Support notes describe Bounty Pack 2 as the second of five post-launch Bounty Packs. It is included in the Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, and Bounty Pack Bundle, and it can also be bought separately.
| Your situation | What you need | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Own the base game and Bounty Pack 2 (or a bundle that includes it) | Nothing further | Start “The Cursed Mine” and follow the route above |
| Own the base game but not Bounty Pack 2 | Buy Bounty Pack 2 separately, or a edition or bundle that includes it | Confirm the pack appears in your library before starting the mission |
| Do not own the base game | Borderlands 4 base game, then Bounty Pack 2 | Install the base game, then add the pack; the sources do not establish any cheaper route |
Fast travel and navigation
The March 26, 2026 Borderlands Support update added a fast-travel station near the Cursed Mine bosses to shorten return trips. Once you have discovered the area, use it for repeat visits. The same update improved ECHOlocation guidance for the Fadefields and Cursed Mine, and fixed navigation problems in the Cursed Mine, including removal of invisible walls and map holes. The official notes confirm the station exists but do not give its map coordinates, so locate it in-game on your map.

Boss drops and minibosses
The Mobalytics guide lists Broken Wings, Fleabag, Hopscotch, and Handcannon as boss drops from this encounter. Treat these as guide-reported rewards rather than a guaranteed loot table. The official Bounty Pack 2 description also mentions a chance at Pearlescent and Legendary loot from the mission, so check current in-game results before planning a farming session around a particular item.
Later changes to Demon’s Domain
Version 1.6 notes from Borderlands Support, dated April 30, 2026, adjusted “Vile” enemies so they stay in their own territory instead of wandering into the Demon’s Domain area. This is an encounter change, not a change to the route. If your route or waypoints differ from the guide, your game build may be newer than the guide, so use the in-game map as the reference.

If the quest is missing
A community question on the r/Borderlands4 subreddit asked: “Where can i find the stone demon i look on the map the quest isnt available.” It describes a common situation, but it is a single user’s report, not an official confirmation of a bug or an unlock condition. Work through these checks:

- Confirm that Bounty Pack 2 is listed in your owned content, and that the base game is installed.
- Make sure the game is updated to the current version, since the April 30, 2026 Version 1.6 notes changed Demon’s Domain encounters.
- Check the in-game map for the Cursed Mine area. The official notes say the fast-travel station and navigation fixes were added there, so the area should be readable on the map.
- If the mission still does not appear, report it through Borderlands Support. The sources do not identify what prerequisite or first interaction unlocks “The Cursed Mine,” so there is no verified fix to offer beyond these checks.
