Get the Modern Aesthetics – Simple and Clean item from Ose Wyd in Il Mheg at (X:29.9, Y:5.9). Community item references list the exchange price as 99 Luminous Oil and the hairstyle requirement as completion of Pilgrimage of Light. Use the item to unlock the style at the Aesthetician.
How to unlock the hairstyle
- Unlock the relevant Pilgrim’s Traverse progression. Square Enix’s Patch 7.35 notes state that Pilgrimage of Light requires completing the Endwalker main scenario and clearing floor 50 of Palace of the Dead.
- Complete Pilgrimage of Light. The hairstyle reference lists this quest as the exchange requirement.
- Get 99 Luminous Oil. FFXIVCollect calls the currency Phials of Luminous Oil in its listing; its route information and item references associate 99 with the Pilgrim’s Traverse exchange.
- Visit Ose Wyd in Il Mheg. Community-maintained hairstyle and item references list Ose Wyd at (X:29.9, Y:5.9) as the vendor for Modern Aesthetics – Simple and Clean. The official Patch 7.35 notes establish the quest context but do not specify this vendor or the item’s price.
- Use the item. After obtaining Modern Aesthetics – Simple and Clean, use it to unlock the hairstyle at the Aesthetician.
The later quest Faerie Tale has additional progression requirements: the Patch 7.35 notes say it requires Pilgrimage of Light and clearing the area marked by stone 30 of Pilgrim’s Traverse. The hairstyle reference lists Pilgrimage of Light as its exchange requirement; the reviewed official notes do not establish stone 30 as an extra gate for buying the hairstyle.
Currency exchange or sack drops?
| Route | What to expect | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Exchange with Ose Wyd | Accumulate 99 Luminous Oil and exchange it for the item. | Community item references list the vendor and amount. No sourced time estimate is available. |
| Pilgrim’s Traverse sacks | Check Silver, Gold, and Platinum sacks for a possible reward. | FFXIVCollect lists the item as a possible sack reward, and player comments on the official Lodestone item page also report sack drops. No reliable drop-rate figure is established. |
The exchange route has a stated currency cost, while the sack route is chance-based. FFXIVCollect labels the item tradeable and the Lodestone item record labels it available for purchase, but those listings do not clearly establish a Market Board purchase path; do not assume one is available.
Why the hairstyle is in Dawntrail
Square Enix’s Patch 7.35 notes announced: “A new hairstyle inspired by an FFXIV Hairstyle Design Contest entry is now available.” The community hairstyle reference identifies it as inspired by a winning entry in the Hairstyle Design Contest 2023 and lists Patch 7.35.
