The Ornamental Shrublet mount is listed as a chance reward from a Silver Sack in Pilgrim’s Traverse, and the item that unlocks it is the Ornamental Shrublet Horn. The sack reward is a chance, not a guaranteed drop, and none of the sources cited here publish a drop rate.
Where the mount comes from
The mount is tied to Pilgrim’s Traverse, the deep dungeon that the Patch 7.35 new-items list associates with it. A third-party guide, Thonky’s Patch 7.35 List of New Items, records the source as a chance of obtaining Ornamental Shrublet from a Silver Sack in Pilgrim’s Traverse. Because that is a secondary report, treat the route as reported rather than as a confirmed, guaranteed drop. Those are the terms to search for if you want to match the listing: “Silver Sack,” “Pilgrim’s Traverse,” and “chance of obtaining.”

The unlock item: the Ornamental Shrublet Horn
Square Enix’s official Eorzea Database entry for the Ornamental Shrublet Horn lists the horn as a use item and places Ornamental Shrublet under “Use to Acquire.” The same entry marks the horn as “Available for Purchase: No,” so it cannot be bought and must be obtained in play. The database also lists the horn’s sale value as 1,000 gil. That figure is what the item sells for, not what it costs to acquire.
How to get the mount, step by step
- Reach Pilgrim’s Traverse. The sources reviewed for this article do not document the dungeon’s unlock requirements, so check those in-game before planning a run.
- Collect Silver Sacks. Each sack carries only a chance at the reward. No odds are published, so expect repeated attempts rather than a fixed number of runs.
- Obtain the Ornamental Shrublet Horn. The sources describe the sack as the chance source for the mount, while the official entry names the horn as the item used to acquire it. They do not spell out whether the sack yields the horn directly, so confirm the item’s name in your inventory when it drops.
- Use the horn to acquire the mount. Official database wording: “Use to Acquire.”
What the mount is
The Console Games Wiki’s Ornamental Shrublet entry classifies it as a one-seater terrestrial mount associated with Patch 7.35, with “Rays of Devotion” listed as its music. These are community-maintained details, so verify them against the in-game mount description if they matter to you.

The entry also credits a line from Aytienne: “Only the most fearsome bits of shrubbery get given elite mark status.”

What is not established
- Drop rate: no numeric probability appears in the sources cited here, so the reward cannot be described as common or rare.
- Dungeon prerequisites: the unlock requirements for Pilgrim’s Traverse are not covered by these sources.
- Alternate routes: no other acquisition method is documented, so the Silver Sack chance is the only route reported.
For expansion background, Square Enix’s Patch 7.0 Notes cover Dawntrail in general. They do not list this mount’s source.
Physical products such as guides or merchandise are not an acquisition aid for this mount. The route is entirely in-game.
