There is no single universal canon ending for Dying Light 2: Stay Human established by the sources available. Techland says player decisions affect the ending, and franchise director Tymon Smektała has said that players who make different choices can have different canons. The ending in your save is the outcome of your playthrough—not a route confirmed as the one official version for everyone.
What Techland says about the ending
Techland describes Dying Light 2 as a game where player actions shape the City and determine outcomes. Its official game page says decisions affect “the ending of the story.” That supports a playthrough-dependent answer: the choices you make determine the outcome you see in your save.

Those statements do not name one ending as the universal canon. They establish that choices matter, not that a particular route is the definitive version for the series.
How the Dying Light director frames canon
In an interview about the franchise’s approach to canon and the more linear Dying Light: The Beast, franchise director Tymon Smektała said: “When you give players choice, actually, to be fair, you shouldn’t be saying what’s canon and what’s not.”

He also argued that developers should not force one canon on players after presenting a game as choice-driven: “You shouldn’t be forcing your canon on the players if you give them choice[…] if you say to players, ‘hey, like, this is a game with choices’, you have to live by the fact that for each one of those players, the canon will be different.” His comments support treating each player’s decisions as meaningful, but they are not a direct ruling that identifies a specific Dying Light 2 ending as official.
Does a future game settle which ending happened?
The statements above do not establish which Dying Light 2 ending, or combination of choices, a future installment will use. Without a direct official statement naming a route, it would be misleading to call one ending universally canonical or to claim that a particular character’s fate is confirmed for the series.

Where to play the game
Dying Light 2: Stay Human was released on February 4, 2022. Techland says physical editions are available on selected platforms and lists PS5 among them. If you have not played it, check the platform and edition on the current listing before buying: Dying Light 2: Stay Human for PS5.
