The free-to-play entry in EA’s catalog is Need for Speed No Limits, and EA describes it as the first Need for Speed made just for mobile. The Need for Speed listing that EA sells for Windows is a paid purchase. Prices and promotions change by region and date, so check the live EA or storefront listing before you buy.
Why No Limits is not a free PC game
Need for Speed No Limits is the only free-to-play Need for Speed title that EA lists in its catalog. Its official game page calls it “the first Need for Speed made just for mobile!” That wording matters for a PC search: the game is positioned for phones and tablets, and EA’s page does not present it as a Windows release.

Free-to-play describes how you get in, not what you will spend. The No Limits page says optional in-game purchases of virtual currency can be used to acquire virtual items and flags, and it flags the presence of in-game purchases, including random items. So the game can cost nothing to start while still offering paid extras.
How the three EA routes compare
Most confusion comes from mixing three different products. The table below separates them by platform, price model and what you must pay.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches#1 Best Overall
- Play through an explosive adventure as three distinct characters united by one common goal: revenge.
- Endlessly fine-tune your performance through each of the five distinct car classes (Race, Drift, Off-Road, Drag, and Runner)
- Get on a roll and win big with risk-versus-reward gameplay. The return of intense cop chases means the stakes have never been higher
| Title | Platform shown by EA | Price model | What you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Need for Speed No Limits | Mobile, per EA’s “made just for mobile” description | Free-to-play | Nothing to download; optional virtual-currency purchases, including random items |
| Need for Speed (EA’s PC listing) | PC, with a Windows purchase option; EA app and Steam listed | Paid purchase | $19.99 on the captured EA page; price may vary by region or sale |
| Need for Speed Unbound | PC, with a Windows purchase link labelled “Buy now” | Paid purchase | Price not stated in the official snapshot; check the storefront |
Only the first row is free to start, and it is not a PC release. The other two are separate paid games, not free editions of No Limits.
What the EA PC listing shows
EA’s Need for Speed page names the EA app and Steam as places to buy, lists PC among its platforms, and shows a Windows purchase option. The page also lists Windows minimum requirements, including 64-bit Windows 7 or later, 6 GB of RAM and 30 GB of free drive space. Those specifications come from one captured page, so confirm them on the live listing before installing, because EA can revise them.
Rank #2
- Electronic Arts 15207 Need for Speed Most Wanted PC
The $19.99 figure is a point-in-time store price from that capture. It is not a fixed price, and it does not tell you whether a discount or regional offer applies to you.
Checking the current offer
- Search “Need for Speed” in the EA app, or on EA’s own website, and confirm which edition you are looking at.
- Check that the platform shown is Windows or PC, not mobile.
- Read the price and any trial or subscription note in your region before adding it to a cart.
- If you are searching for No Limits, open its EA page and confirm the mobile description and in-game purchase notice still apply.
Can you play No Limits on a PC?
EA’s official pages do not state that No Limits runs on Windows, and they do not confirm that any emulator is supported. Treat any claim of an official PC version as unverified.
Third-party installers and “free download” sites are a common trap. Software from unofficial sources can carry malware, and it can also violate EA’s terms. If you want to play No Limits, use the mobile app stores listed on the official EA page, and treat any PC route as your own unsupported risk.

At the time of writing, EA’s official pages do not offer a free, full PC Need for Speed game. If you want a PC title, the realistic options are the paid EA listings above, or a temporary promotion from EA or a storefront, which you can only confirm on that store’s current page. A free promotion that appears on a third-party site without a matching EA or storefront listing should not be trusted.
If you are on a budget, check whether the storefront you use offers a refund window or a discount for the title before you commit.
