School-themed houses and bundle houses are the two categories players most often describe as having fishing spots in Wizard101. Other houses may also allow fishing, but no current, maintained list of fishable houses exists. Treat the categories as a starting point and confirm each house in game before you plan around it.
Which houses have fishing spots
Fishing in Wizard101 houses is not tied to a single house type. The most consistent guidance from the game’s official forums points to two groups, and a few individually reported houses sit outside them.
School-themed houses
Forum guidance specifically identifies school-themed houses as places where fishing is available. This is the most dependable category to start with.
Bundle houses
Forum participants say bundle houses generally have fishing. The same posts acknowledge exceptions, so a bundle house is a good candidate rather than a guarantee.

Houses players have reported
Individual player posts go beyond the two categories. They are useful leads, but they are not official confirmation.
- Storm House: a forum participant reports fishing spots here.
- Balance House: reported with fishing spots in the same player posts.
- Desert Villa: a separate post reports no fishing.
- Island Getaway: the poster was unsure, so do not assume either way.
Because the Desert Villa report contradicts the idea that any house with water or a beach-style setting will work, judge each house on its own rather than by its look.

Water in a house does not guarantee fish
A pond or stream is not proof of a fishing spot. A forum community leader’s guidance is that fishing is available only in certain castles, and decorative water features do not by themselves create a place to fish. If a house has water that you cannot fish, that is expected, not a sign that you are doing something wrong.
How to fish in a house you do not own
You do not need to buy a house to fish one. Forum participants describe visiting other players’ homes through Castle Tours and fishing in the eligible ones. Posts place Castle Tours in Wizard City Commons and describe using the tour NPC to visit houses. The exact interface steps come from player descriptions and may change with game updates, but the general route is:

- Go to Wizard City Commons.
- Find the tour NPC that runs Castle Tours and choose a house to visit.
- Once you are inside the house, look for a shoreline spot and attempt to fish there.
- If no spot works, the house is not eligible or the spot is blocked, so move on to the next house.
Do not judge a house from its preview. One player post clarifies that a house preview does not allow fishing, so the only reliable test is an actual visit.
Why a spot can be hard to use
Even in an eligible house, you may not be able to fish easily. Common problems described in player posts include:

- Blocking decorations: furniture or decor placed near the water can obstruct the fishing area.
- Hard-to-find spots: some fishing areas are not obvious, and you may need to walk the shoreline to locate one.
- Access problems: one discussion describes access difficulties at the Storm House, and forum members have asked owners not to block fishing spots with decorations.
- Changes after updates: house fishing can change when a house is updated, so a house that worked before may not work now.
How to check a house before relying on it
There are no verified, current head-to-head comparisons between houses, and the available posts do not rank yields or call any house the best. When you evaluate a house, use these practical checks and record what you observe:
- Fishing is available in that specific house.
- The fishing spot is easy to find and reach.
- Decorations do not block the shoreline.
- The house can be visited through Castle Tours, so you do not need to own it to fish there.
What the evidence covers and what it does not
The house categories come from Wizard101 community forum posts, most of which are several years old. Player descriptions of the Castle Tours route and of individual houses may not reflect the current game. The official Wizard101 website confirms that fishing is a game feature but does not list which houses allow it. Prices and current house availability are not established by the sources available, so do not rely on older claims about either.
