Whispers of the Wind is a free Disney Dreamlight Valley update released April 8, 2026. It adds a Pocahontas story featuring Meeko, Olaf’s Grand Exhibition collection displays, Star Path Vault rewards, quality-of-life changes, and a long list of fixes. The notes below reflect Gameloft’s April 6, 2026 patch notes and April 8 launch announcement.
What’s new in Whispers of the Wind?
- A new Pocahontas storyline that leads to welcoming Meeko as a Villager.
- Olaf’s Grand Exhibition, where you turn collected items into displays for Valley decorations.
- The Elements of Nature Star Path, featuring nature-themed outfits and furniture, plus the Hermit Garden Turtle companion.
- Star Path Vault rewards that make selected rewards from earlier Star Paths available again.
- Changes to crafting, decorating, reward screens, and Nintendo Switch performance, along with bug fixes.
How to unlock Pocahontas and Meeko
To begin the Pocahontas story, you must have Moana as a Villager and have unlocked both the Forest of Valor and Dazzle Beach. The story sends you to follow swirling leaves to a mysterious island, where you piece together memories.
As the quest continues, you help Pocahontas hold a Celestial Celebration around the Moontide Glow. You then use starlight to craft special bait and welcome Meeko. Pocahontas’s friendship quests provide additional rewards, including her signature clothing set.
How Olaf’s Grand Exhibition works
You need to have unlocked Olaf to enter the Grand Exhibition. At launch, its two rooms represent the Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach. Each room has three kinds of displays:

| Display | What contributes to it |
|---|---|
| Diorama | Flowers specific to the biome and blueprints tied to the storyline. |
| Aquarium | Gems and fish. |
| Habitat | Foods and companions. |
Completing displays unlocks decorations for your Valley. The system gives collected items a display purpose: gather the materials that match a room and its display rather than treating the Exhibition as a separate story quest.

If you already own an item, it is marked as owned and replaced by a random Red Chest. Premium Star Path players also get access to reimagined versions of previous rewards.
Quality-of-life changes

Decorating and rewards
- Group Mode has been enlarged for indoor and outdoor decorating, and selection is easier to see over water.
- Fencing and Path categories have been adjusted.
- The Star Path Bonus Rewards submenu has been removed. Bonus Rewards are now on the general Rewards screen, which has a grid toggle and tags for reward type and DreamSnaps.

Performance and bug fixes
Gameloft reported that the update could provide Nintendo Switch players with up to an additional 5 fps, and that players with the most decorated Valleys could see frame rates up to 20% faster after optimizations. These are the publisher’s stated maximum gains, not results from independent testing or a guarantee for every Switch or Valley.
