Kids and teens make up most of Roblox’s active audience. In Roblox’s most recent age split, players under 18 were 74% of daily active users (DAUs) who had completed an age check, and players 18 or older were 26%. Whether “kids” means children under 13 or everyone under 18 changes the answer, so both readings are covered below.
The latest age split
Roblox’s Q1 2026 shareholder letter reported the age mix of DAUs who had completed an age check during the seven days ended March 31, 2026. An earlier company release, dated February 5, 2026, covered the seven days ended January 31, 2026. The two snapshots are close, which suggests the overall mix is fairly stable, though it shifted slightly between them.

Kids, teens, and adults: which definition to use
Roblox reports children under 13 and teens aged 13 to 17 separately, so the word “kids” can point to two different groups:

- Teens aged 13 to 17: 38% in March 2026, the largest single age band.
- Everyone under 18: 74%, combining both groups above.
- Adults 18 and older: 26%, the smallest of the three bands.
For a headline or a classroom answer, “under 18 versus adults” is the most accurate framing, because it does not hide the teen group. If you write “children” alone, define it as under 13 and add the teen figure.
What the percentages measure
The figures describe a specific group: daily active users who completed Roblox’s age check. They are not a census of every person with a Roblox account. In its February 2026 disclosure, Roblox said that 45% of its then 144 million global DAUs had completed a check, which works out to roughly 65 million people. The remaining users are not in the age split, and the disclosures do not establish whether people who have checked differ in age or play style from those who have not.

Roblox also warned in February that these numbers “may evolve as more users age-check.” Because the share of users who have checked is still changing, treat the split as a snapshot of that checked population, not a permanent description of the platform.
This article uses the Q1 2026 letter, the most recent age split available for this review. Roblox publishes quarterly shareholder letters, so a newer quarter may show a different mix. Check the investor relations section of Roblox’s website for the latest figure before quoting the percentages as current.

How Roblox determines age
Roblox’s 2025 Form 10-K describes the age-check program. Key points:
- Roblox says it began introducing age checks in the fourth quarter of 2025.
- It implemented mandatory age-check systems in all chat-enabled regions in January 2026.
- The methods named in its filing are facial age estimation, identity verification, and age data provided by a parent or caregiver.
- Roblox states that its age-check methods and procedures continue to evolve.
These methods matter for interpreting the split, because the age of each checked user depends on how the check classified them. The company’s filings describe the methods but do not include an independent audit of how accurately they sort users by age, so the percentages should be read as Roblox’s own classification.

What the numbers do not show
The age split measures who is in each age group, not how much each group plays or spends. Two company-wide 2025 figures from the Form 10-K show the scale of the platform but cannot answer an age-specific question:
- 127 million average daily active users in 2025.
- 123.9 billion hours engaged in 2025.
Neither figure is broken down by age, so they cannot tell you whether children or adults account for more playtime. Likewise, the cited disclosures do not split spending by age. A group that makes up 74% of checked users is not automatically responsible for 74% of hours or purchases.

Earlier company figures
Roblox published older age figures in 2023, and they are useful only as historical context. In a May 2023 statement, CEO and co-founder David Baszucki wrote: “More than 55% of our users are now over 13 years old and our fastest-growing demographic segment is 17-24-year-old users, with 35% DAU YOY growth in Q1 2023.”
That 2023 statement also put 17- to 24-year-olds at 22% of the community. Its age bands differ from the 2026 categories, and it was not based on the same age-checked population, so it cannot be used to show a trend from 2023 to 2026. It does confirm that older teens and young adults were already a significant and fast-growing part of the audience before the age-check rollout.
Common questions about the split
The percentages above answer the question directly. Two cautions remain for anyone reusing them: the figures are shares of checked users rather than total accounts, and they are company-reported without independent verification. Quote them with the date and the population they describe.
