A blocked Ubisoft login can mean a temporary account lock, a permanent sanction, or a separate email or authentication problem. Check whether Ubisoft sent a lock notice before assuming a failed sign-in means you were banned: the right next step depends on which kind of access problem you have.
First, work out what kind of block you have
Ubisoft’s public guidance cannot identify why a particular account was flagged. Look for an email from Ubisoft and note whether it describes a temporary lock or a permanent lock. If there is no sanction notice, consider email delivery, account access, or authentication trouble instead.
- Temporary account lock: Ubisoft says it may lock an account temporarily after detecting fraudulent activity or too many failed login attempts. A temporary lock can prevent access to Ubisoft online games and services, as well as website login pages. Ubisoft’s temporary account-lock guidance explains the process.
- Permanent lock: Ubisoft says activity that violates its Terms of Use or Code of Conduct can result in a temporary lock or permanent ban. Its guidance associates permanent locks with conduct such as phishing, account selling or sharing, and fraud. If you believe the decision is mistaken, you can appeal it. Ubisoft’s appeal guidance describes what to provide.
- Email or authentication issue: Difficulty receiving a message or completing sign-in does not by itself establish that Ubisoft sanctioned your account. Ubisoft provides separate steps for email access and delivery problems. See its email troubleshooting guidance.
What to do for each type of problem
If Ubisoft says the account is temporarily locked
Wait for Ubisoft’s notice that the sanction has been lifted. Ubisoft says, “We are not able to remove temporary locks placed on your account,” and says it will email you when the sanction is lifted. Its public guidance does not give a standard lock duration, so do not rely on a guessed timeline or repeated sign-in attempts to speed up the process.
If the account is permanently locked and you think it is a mistake
Submit an appeal through Ubisoft’s sanction process. Include the sanctioned account’s username and a clear reason for the appeal; Ubisoft says appeals that omit requested information will be denied. Repeated or abusive contacts do not improve an appeal.

If you cannot access or receive email
- Confirm that you can sign in to the email account associated with Ubisoft.
- Search spam, junk, and promotional folders for Ubisoft messages, and follow Ubisoft’s guidance for allowing its official email addresses.
- If a platform account is linked, try using that sign-in route to reach Ubisoft Account Management.
- If these checks do not resolve the problem, or you suspect someone else accessed the account, use Ubisoft’s account recovery process.
If the login failure is limited to one game
A temporary ban from a particular game is not the same as a temporary lock on the Ubisoft account. Ubisoft says a player may still use other Ubisoft sites, games, or services during a game-specific ban. Check the game’s sanction notice rather than assuming every game ban blocks Ubisoft sign-in.
Why Ubisoft restricts accounts
Besides temporary locks prompted by detected fraud or repeated failed attempts, Ubisoft’s Terms of Use say it may block or restrict account access or particular functions for security or community-protection reasons. The terms also mention issues involving an account’s phone number or email and say Ubisoft may require two-factor authentication or other safeguards for some features. These possibilities are not an account-specific diagnosis: only Ubisoft can explain the reason for a restriction on your account.

Ubisoft’s rules also prohibit conduct covered by its Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. Its account-lock guidance names phishing, selling or sharing accounts, and fraud among conduct associated with permanent locks. Read Ubisoft’s Terms of Use and Code of Conduct for the applicable rules.
Secure the account after access returns
Once you can sign in again, change the password and enable 2-Step verification. Use a strong, unique password, keep credentials private, review your login history, and check that the associated email account is secure. Ubisoft’s account-security guidance covers these protections.

What public guidance cannot tell you
Ubisoft’s public help pages do not disclose the reason a specific account was flagged, how long an individual temporary lock will last, or whether an appeal will succeed. If the notice or sign-in error does not make the account’s status clear, use Ubisoft account support or recovery rather than treating the failure alone as proof of a ban.
