MC Command Center (MCCC) can raise the maximum household size, but it cannot lift the eight-Sim ceiling in the game’s standard Manage Households and CAS screens. MCCC’s own FAQ states that this limit is hard-coded into those interfaces. Households above eight have to be handled with MCCC’s move commands and its alternate CAS editing option, not with the ordinary menus.
Why the setting and the interface limit are different
Changing the household-size setting controls what MCCC allows a household to hold. It does not change how the game’s Manage Households and CAS screens behave. The MCCC FAQ says: “It is hard-coded in the Sims 4 UI code for Manage Households and CAS to only allow 8 Sims.” (MCCC FAQ)
That means a household can be larger than eight and still show no room to add a ninth Sim in the standard screens. If you have raised the setting and the ordinary menus still refuse new members, the mod is working as documented; the menus are the bottleneck.
Adding or moving Sims into a larger household
MCCC documents three routes that avoid the standard screens. Each one is a software command or menu option, so nothing physical or extra is required.

The sim_move command
The MCCC command documentation describes sim_move first_name last_name. Entering it with a Sim’s name opens a dialog where you choose a destination for that Sim, including the active household. Enter commands in the game’s cheat console (opened with Ctrl+Shift+C on PC). (MCCC command documentation)
Shift-click with Testing Cheats enabled
The MCCC FAQ lists shift-clicking a Sim, with Testing Cheats enabled, as an alternative to the standard methods that cannot add Sims to households above eight. (MCCC FAQ)

- Rule your story: Build a powerful Dynasty, shape shared Values, choose an Heir, or exile family members in a deep life simulation driven by legacy, prestige, and choice.
- Claim the crown: Rise through Nobility by winning the people, pleasing rival Nobles, dueling with swords, or exposing Scandals that can change the balance of power.
- Scandal fuels drama: Forbidden romances, secret children, and public disgrace can impact careers, relationships, Dynasty Prestige, and Noble Favor.
The Maintain Sim command
The Sim MCCC menu includes a Maintain Sim command for moving Sims between households, according to the MCCC FAQ. (MCCC FAQ)
Editing a household above eight without losing Sims
This is the part that causes the most damage. MCCC warns that the game’s ordinary Edit in CAS functions are hard-coded for eight Sims and may delete household members beyond the eighth. Before editing any household that is above eight, save a backup of your game.

- Develop Parenting Skills – Level up your Sim’s parenting skills to satisfy their child’s needs and influence their behaviors. Gain new abilities through experience and choosing when to discipline bad actions, encourage good behavior, or just let kids be kids.
- Shape Your Sim’s Childhood – The decisions you make influence how your Sim parents and leave a lasting impact on their child’s future. Each choice shapes their personality, affects their traits, influences their family relationships, and guides their path into adulthood.
- Gather your Sim’s family to participate in new activities and spend quality time with each other. Sims of all ages can work together to complete a variety of school projects, express their creativity using construction blocks, or volunteer their time for good.
- Customize your Sims’ looks and their home with new family fashion and build items. Give the kids’ bedrooms extra personality, remodel the kitchen to feel homier, and let your Sims express their sporty or artistic sides with new outfits.
- Editing one Sim: use “Modify in CAS.” It is available from the initial MCCC Sim menu or under MCCC > Sim Commands.
- Editing a larger household: use MCCC’s alternate CAS Edit, which the FAQ recommends for households above eight.
- Avoid: ordinary Manage Household, dresser, closet, and mirror editing for an oversized household.

Check your game patch before using version-specific fixes
MCCC’s downloads page lists the builds its current release has been tested against. MCCC says earlier game versions may not be compatible and may not be supported. Because the game and the mod both change, treat the table below as a snapshot and confirm it on the downloads page before troubleshooting.
| Item | Value listed on MCCC downloads page |

- The setting is raised but no room appears in Manage Households: this is the hard-coded interface limit. Move the Sim with
sim_move, shift-click with Testing Cheats enabled, or use Maintain Sim instead. - Sims vanished after an edit: the edit probably went through an ordinary CAS or household screen. Restore from the backup you made before editing, then redo the change with Modify in CAS or the alternate CAS Edit.
- Something broke after a game update: compare your installed PC or Mac build with the table above. If your patch is not listed, check the MCCC downloads page for a release that supports it before changing settings. Documentation: MCCC documentation overview.
Taken together, the fix for an oversized household is a set of MCCC commands and menu options, not a change to the base game.
