What was the Amazon Prime offer?
Amazon included Football Manager 2023 in Prime Gaming’s September 2023 free-games lineup. The announcement listed the game for the Epic Games Store and said the limited-time offers began September 7. It did not specify a final claim date, so the announcement alone cannot confirm whether the offer remains claimable now or whether a code claimed at the time can still be redeemed.

Amazon stated that Football Manager 2023 was unavailable in Brazil and cautioned that offers could vary by region. It did not provide a complete country-by-country availability list, so availability elsewhere should not be assumed to have been universal. Amazon’s announcement is the historical source for the offer and its regional caveat.
Which store did the promotion use?
The Prime Gaming listing was for the Epic Games Store, not Steam. Amazon’s general Prime Gaming instructions describe signing in with Prime credentials, selecting an offer’s “Claim” button, and following its access instructions. Some offers require a code to be redeemed through a storefront. How was this different from the June 2023 free-play event?
Football Manager also ran a separate free-play promotion in June 2023. It was not the September Prime Gaming giveaway:

The publisher’s June free-play announcement gives the dates and platforms for that event. It should not be mistaken for an ongoing Steam offer or for the Prime Gaming claim.

What if you missed the Prime Gaming claim?
The publisher confirmed that physical FM23 packs existed, but they contained a unique activation code rather than a game disc. The code could enable play through Steam, Epic Games or the Microsoft Store, according to Football Manager’s launch announcement. That is distinct from the Prime promotion, and the cited information does not establish current boxed-game stock, prices, or whether any particular code remains valid. Check the specific edition, region and redemption terms before buying one.

Yes. The publisher said physical packs contained a code instead of a disc. It also reported a 47% lower packaging carbon footprint than FM22 packaging, attributing the reduction to removing the disc and notebook and refining the packaging. That figure refers to packaging, not the full lifecycle emissions of the game.
