No, not currently. As of October 8, 2026, the free Watch Dogs 2 offers Ubisoft ran in the past have all expired, and the official Ubisoft and Xbox pages describe Watch Dogs 2 as a paid purchase. The two historical routes were a Samsung device code promotion that ended in 2017 and a Division 2 PC preorder bonus that ended in 2019. A July 2026 Xbox-to-PC benefit exists, but it does not include Watch Dogs 2.
This article explains what each old offer required, why neither one can be used today, and how to check whether Ubisoft announces a new giveaway in the future.

The two Ubisoft offers that gave Watch Dogs 2 away
Ubisoft has run two promotions that included Watch Dogs 2 at no cost. Both are closed, and both are often mistaken for a current offer because the old pages still circulate online.
Samsung device code promotion (historical, ended 2017)
This was a hardware tie-in. Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2 promotion FAQ on the Samsung-branded site described the steps: claimants logged in with an existing Uplay account or created a new one, entered a code printed inside the eligible product box, completed a product information page, and submitted the form. The FAQ stated:

“Simply login on www.watchdogs.com/samsung, log in with your existing Uplay account or create a new one, enter your code found within your product box, complete your product information page and submit.”
The promotion covered selected Samsung products sold in the United States. Offer terms said the device offer ran from October 30 through December 31, 2016, or while supplies lasted, and that codes had to be redeemed by July 31, 2017. Ownership of a qualifying device was the entry condition, so this route was never open to someone who only wanted the game. The archived Watch Dogs 2 Redemption FAQ is useful for history, but its claim process no longer works.

The Division 2 PC preorder bonus (historical, ended 2019)
This route was tied to a different game. Ubisoft’s terms, published on its store site, allowed a customer who preordered a PC digital edition of The Division 2 by March 14, 2019 to choose one standard-edition PC game from a list that included Watch Dogs 2. The selection deadline was March 31, 2019. The offer ran in participating countries, subject to the restrictions and age requirements in the terms, and the chosen game was attached to the buyer’s Ubisoft account. Every date in the terms has passed. The archived Division 2 free game terms confirm the timeline.
Where Watch Dogs 2 is sold now
Watch Dogs 2 is listed as a purchase on Ubisoft’s official pages. Ubisoft describes it as an open-world action-adventure set in the San Francisco Bay Area and starring Marcus Holloway. The game is listed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Ubisoft’s store page also lists PC, PS4, Xbox, and Steam as digital platforms, and Steam carries its own Watch Dogs 2 store listing.

PC requirements
- A Ubisoft account is required to buy or activate the game through Ubisoft’s own store.
- The PC version runs through Ubisoft Connect, which must be installed.
- Easy Anti-Cheat is required to launch the game. If it is uninstalled, the game will not start.
Why the 2026 Xbox-to-PC benefit does not apply
Microsoft’s Xbox Wire announcement dated July 27, 2026 says owners of selected digital Xbox console games can access eligible Ubisoft PC versions through Ubisoft Connect. The titles named in that announcement include Watch Dogs: Legion. Watch Dogs 2 is not on the list, so owning the Xbox version does not unlock a free PC copy under this benefit. Readers who see Watch Dogs 2 in a roundup of Xbox-to-PC perks should check the full list on the Xbox Wire announcement before assuming eligibility.

How to check for a future Watch Dogs 2 giveaway
Ubisoft has run free-game promotions before, so a new one could appear. Verify it through official channels before acting:
- Open the Watch Dogs 2 page on Ubisoft’s official Watch Dogs 2 page and switch the region selector to your country.
- Check the offer terms for an official Ubisoft or partner announcement that names Watch Dogs 2, a start date, an end date, and an eligibility rule.
- Confirm that the offer appears on Ubisoft’s regional store, not only on a third-party site or social post.
- Before claiming, confirm which account you need to sign in with, since offers are typically tied to a Ubisoft account.
If an official page does not show a current offer, the game is a standard purchase.
