The Battlefield 6 free trial tied to the Nightfall phase ran from March 17 to March 24, 2026. EA later listed another trial for September 15–22, but that window has also ended. As of October 8, 2026, the official Battlefield news index reviewed here lists no later trial announcement.
When was the Nightfall free trial?
EA scheduled the Nightfall trial for March 17–24, 2026. The update was available to download from 09:00 UTC on March 17, with Season 2: Nightfall content going live at 12:00 UTC. The trial window has expired. EA’s March 13 update said the event offered four maps and six modes, including Conquest and Nightfall-enabled Domination and Team Deathmatch.

What did Nightfall add?
Nightfall brought darkness-focused gameplay to Battlefield 6 multiplayer and REDSEC, including underground combat areas and limited-time modes built around flashlights and night-vision goggles. The update introduced Hagental Base, an underground close-quarters map. Battlefield Studios’ February 12 season preview described Nightfall as one of Season 2’s three phases. In an April 2 debrief, EA said Night Mode and VL-7 Smoke would be added to Portal with the following phase, extending access to those modifiers in that mode.
Was there another Battlefield 6 free trial?
Yes. EA’s September 14 Season 4 guide listed a second free trial from September 15 through September 22, 2026. It included selected maps, modes, and events, with Wake Island, Tsuru Reef, Cairo Bazaar, and Hagental Base among the named maps. That trial has ended as well.

Has EA announced a new trial?
The official Battlefield 6 news index, reviewed on October 8, lists October 1 coverage about Season 5 and beyond, October 2 anti-cheat metrics, and September announcements. It does not list a free-trial window after September 22. That is what the index showed on that date, not a guarantee EA will not announce another trial later; check the news page for any new dates.
What did the trial require?
EA’s offer terms said the limited trial required Battlefield REDSEC on the applicable platform, all game updates, an internet connection, and an EA account. Each EA account could use the trial once, and conditions could change. Continuing with the full game after trial access required a purchase.

With both listed trial periods over, EA’s stated continuation path is to buy the full game. Its purchase page links to platform storefronts. Check the current listing for your platform—PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC—and confirm the edition before purchasing. Players looking only for the free REDSEC experience should check its current availability separately.
