From September 17, 2025, EA’s Web and Companion Apps moved to FC 26 only, so the FC 25 app can no longer be used to manage a club. This guide explains what the service did, how it differed from the mobile app, and what EA’s successor-app eligibility rules do—and do not—mean.
What happened to the FC 25 Web App?
EA’s current Web and Companion App guide says the FC 25 Web App went offline on September 12, 2025. EA says the FC 26 Web App came online on September 17, and the Companion App followed on September 18. Since September 17, the Web and Companion Apps have been for FC 26 only; EA does not offer a way to switch the current apps back to FC 25.

These dates mark the changeover between app cycles, not the original FC 25 app launch. The official pages reviewed here do not establish FC 25’s launch date or a complete set of its original launch requirements.
What did the Web App let you do?
The Web App was a browser-based way to manage Ultimate Team when away from the game. Its mobile counterpart, the Companion App, was for iOS and Android and used the EA Account associated with the game. EA’s current FC app page advertises features including buying and selling players on the Transfer Market, Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), squad tactics, Evolutions and stadium customization.

That feature list describes the current FC 26-focused app page; it should not be taken as a verified inventory of every feature in the FC 25 app. EA’s FC 25 support hub confirms that EA provided help topics for Web and Companion Transfer Market access, Playtime, Quick Sell Recovery, Ultimate Team objectives and SBC onboarding, but it is an index rather than a detailed record of the retired app’s functionality.
Web App vs. Companion App

The distinction is the access method and device, not a separate Ultimate Team account. Both apps are now in the FC 26 app cycle; neither provides access to the retired FC 25 service.

Can you still sign in to the FC 25 Web App?
No. Because EA took the FC 25 Web App offline, returning to its old sign-in route cannot restore FC 25 app access. Buying FC 25 now also cannot bring that service back. If you want to use the current app, start with the FC 26 Web or Companion App and the EA Account used for your game.
Why might you lack access to the current app or Transfer Market?
App access and Transfer Market access are distinct. EA’s current guide sets out conditions for early access to the FC 26 app cycle; those conditions concern the successor app and do not describe a way to reopen FC 25.

Early access to the FC 26 apps
EA says early access depended on having logged in to Ultimate Team and created an Ultimate Team Club in FC 25 on the same platform before August 1, 2025. The FC 25 account had to remain in good standing, and deleting the club disqualified early access. These are EA’s conditions for early access to FC 26 Web and Companion Apps, not a guarantee of FC 25 app access or a general promise that any new purchase will qualify.
Transfer Market access
EA says FC 25 players with an account in good standing could begin using the Transfer Market in the FC 26 Web App on September 17, 2025. This is a specific statement about the successor app’s transition. The guide does not promise that playing a fixed number of matches—or repeating a particular activity—will unlock Transfer Market access.

What to check if you are having trouble
- Confirm that you are signing in with the EA Account used to play Ultimate Team.
- Check that you are using the current FC 26 app, rather than expecting the FC 25 service to work.
- For account or market-access problems, use EA’s official Web and Companion App access guide and the relevant FC 25 support topics where applicable.
When did the FC 25 Web App go offline?
EA’s current support guide dates the end of the FC 25 Web App to September 12, 2025. EA lists September 17, 2025, as the start of the FC 26 Web App and the date from which the Web and Companion Apps were FC 26-only; the FC 26 Companion App became available September 18, 2025.
