Zenith: The Last City is now presented through a combined storefront product called Zenith: Nexus, not as a straightforward new standalone purchase. Whether it is worth playing depends first on whether you already own access to The Last City, and on what you expect from its free-to-play companion mode, Infinite Realms. The available evidence confirms the current access model and supported VR platforms, but does not establish how active, stable, or enjoyable the game is for a new player today.
What does “Zenith: The Last City” mean on the store today?
Steam currently lists the product as Zenith: Nexus, which includes two modes: Infinite Realms, described as free to play, and The Last City, offered as downloadable content. Ramen VR’s Zenith Nexus announcement explains the move to the combined identity and free-to-play approach.
Steam says players who purchased The Last City before February 24, 2024 retain access and can launch it from within Zenith: Nexus. That legacy entitlement is different from a new player simply buying the old standalone game. Since listings and access terms can change, check the live Steam page before spending money.
Is it still running, or is Zenith shutting down?
Ramen VR Support’s shutdown FAQ, last updated July 12, 2024, stated: “No, we’ll keep Zenith: The Last City and Zenith: Infinite Realms shards running for the foreseeable future.” This is the company’s dated statement, not a guarantee of service beyond that date. It confirms what Ramen VR said then; it does not establish the servers’ present status in October 2026.

What do the reviews say?
Steam showed 63% positive from 3,542 English-language reviews when accessed on October 8, 2026. That is a snapshot of the Steam page now titled Zenith: Nexus, not a rating exclusively for the original The Last City mode. Steam review totals and percentages change over time, so treat the figure as a dated storefront indicator rather than a current, mode-specific verdict.
The score alone cannot answer whether the game is a good fit for you. It does not establish present-day population, performance, bugs, comfort, or the condition and breadth of each mode. A reliable recommendation on those points requires current hands-on assessment.

What kind of game is it?
Steam describes an MMO feature set that includes an open world, quests, crafting, social features, classes, dungeons, PvP, and boss battles. Those are features advertised by the store, not an independent assessment of how well they work or how much content remains active. If you are deciding whether to play, distinguish the advertised scope from the current quality of the experience.

Zenith is VR-only. Steam lists SteamVR support; the official game platform page lists Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Rift, PlayStation VR2, and Steam VR. Confirm compatibility against the current store and headset requirements before installing.

What should a new player check before deciding?
- Access: Check whether the mode you want is included, free, or requires an entitlement or purchase under the current Zenith: Nexus listing.
- Mode: Decide whether you specifically want The Last City or are open to the separate Infinite Realms mode; their availability under one product does not make them the same experience.
- Social activity: Look for current evidence of players and group activity in the mode and region you plan to use. No verified player-count figure is established here.
- Headset experience: Check current compatibility and seek recent reports relevant to your headset for controls, comfort, performance, and bugs.
- Cost: Verify the live price and exactly what it unlocks. The historical review snapshot does not show whether today’s purchase is good value.
