Short answer: You can potentially secure both Salarian and krogan support and keep Mordin alive by letting the genophage sabotage stand, deceiving the krogan, and having Wreav lead them. This is a conditional deception route, not a true cure—and it is not reliable if Wrex is leading. The standard cure earns krogan support but costs Mordin’s life; accepting the Dalatrass’s offer instead can earn the Salarian First Fleet. Spoilers for Priority: Tuchanka follow.
What changes the outcome on Priority: Tuchanka?
The mission’s final decision on Tuchanka is whether to let Mordin deploy a genophage cure or allow the sabotage of the Shroud to stand. Before that decision, the Dalatrass offers Salarian support if Shepard does not stop the sabotage. The outcome depends on three things: which side Shepard backs, whether Wrex or Wreav leads the krogan, and whether Mordin is present and can be persuaded to participate in a fake cure. Check your imported save first
Imported choices determine whether Wrex is alive and leading the krogan or Wreav has taken that role. They also affect Eve and the strength of krogan-related war assets. If Mordin did not survive the Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2, Padok Wiks fills the scientist role and Mordin cannot be saved in this mission. Complete available Tuchanka side content before starting if you want to account for its effects on the campaign; there is no single asset total that applies to every imported save.

The asset descriptions above are directional, not universal totals. Imported history and mission choices change the final war-asset picture. Prima Games ties the Salarian First Fleet to siding with the Salarians and not curing the genophage, and notes Mordin as an asset if he lives through the mission.

How to get both factions’ support and possibly save Mordin
- Confirm Wreav is leading the krogan. This route depends on deceiving the krogan; Wrex can discover the sabotage, so do not count on keeping him fooled.
- Keep Mordin available. He must have survived Mass Effect 2’s Suicide Mission. If he is absent, Padok Wiks takes the scientist role and Mordin cannot be saved here.
- Accept the Dalatrass’s offer by allowing the sabotage to stand. Do not stop the sabotage at the Shroud; the Salarian First Fleet is associated with this no-cure branch.
- Deceive the krogan about the cure. With Wreav leading, the deception can preserve krogan support in the immediate mission outcome.
- Persuade Mordin to fake the cure and his death. If the dialogue condition succeeds, he can live and later contribute as a war asset.
This path earns support through deception rather than a genuine cure. The walkthroughs describe Wreav as susceptible to the deception in a way Wrex is not; they do not establish it as a universal way to preserve support while keeping Wrex in charge. What the real cure costs
If Shepard lets Mordin deploy the cure, the krogan support the war effort. In the standard route, Mordin must finish dispersing it and does not survive. This is the straightforward choice for a player who values curing the genophage and securing krogan trust over the Salarian First Fleet tied to the sabotage branch.

Why there is no universal war-asset total
Earlier decisions—including whether Wrex leads, whether Eve is present, and choices involving Maelon’s data—change the available characters and the strength of krogan-related assets. The cited guides describe the outcomes but do not establish one total that fits every save. Treat the faction outcomes as the useful comparison, not a guaranteed campaign-wide number.
