What is teamLFG?
Hermen Hulst, CEO of Studio Business Group at Sony Interactive Entertainment, announced teamLFG as a new member of the PlayStation Studios family on May 7, 2025. PlayStation’s current teamLFG studio profile also lists it as part of that family.
Hulst said the studio originated at Bungie and brought together developers from across the games industry to work on an incubation project. That description does not mean every team member came from Bungie; the announcement did not publish a full roster. The studio is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, with team members working on-site and remotely across the United States and Canada.
What does “LFG” mean?
In its introduction, the studio explained that “LFG” stands for “Looking For Group.” teamLFG says it wants to make games that help players find friendship, community, and belonging. It describes its intended games as immersive, richly social multiplayer action experiences that players can learn and master over time. These are the studio’s stated goals, not a description of a released game.

What is teamLFG’s first game?
The studio has described the project, but has not announced a title. Its announcement calls it a team-based action game in a lighthearted, comedic mythic science-fantasy universe. teamLFG cited several kinds of games as inspiration:
- Fighting games: one of the stated sources of inspiration for the action.
- Platformers: another named influence; the studio did not specify how platforming will work in the game.
- MOBAs: included among the influences, without further detail about structure or mechanics.
- Life sims: also cited as inspiration, with no specific features announced.
- “Frog-type games”: the studio used this phrase but did not define it, so it does not establish a particular genre or mechanic.
The announcement did not name platforms, a release window, or commercial details. It therefore does not establish whether or when the project will be playable, or which PlayStation systems it might come to.

How does teamLFG plan to involve players?
teamLFG says it wants to build its games with their communities. It described inviting players into development through early-access playtests and considering feedback before launch and during live service. The announcement did not provide a playtest schedule or signup instructions, so it is not a way to register for a test.
