Patch 1.2.0.0, announced by Battlestate Games on October 6, 2026, does not add an offline PvE mode. Its official notes change PvE bot behavior and introduce a Prestige system for PvE Zone. The stimulant quest line that headlines often pair with this patch comes from an older update, patch 0.14.9.6, which the developer announced in July 2024. This article separates the two, explains what each one documents, and shows how to check any future “offline” claim against the official source.
What Patch 1.2.0.0 actually changed
The Patch 1.2.0.0 announcement, published as an official Escape from Tarkov post on Battlestate Games’ Steam news page, covers two areas: PvE bot behavior and a new progression system called Prestige. Nothing in that announcement describes a separate offline mode, a single-player campaign, or a way to play PvE without a connection.
PvE bot behavior
- Cooperation: USEC and BEAR PMC bots are described as more likely to cooperate with each other.
- Neutrality toward players: PMC bots may stay neutral toward a player PMC until that player approaches or attacks them.
- Movement and distribution: bot movement and how bots are spread across locations were changed.
- Numbers and gear: bot counts and gear are adjusted by location and by level.
- The Labyrinth: PMC bot spawns were added to The Labyrinth.
PvE Zone Prestige
The announcement presents Prestige as a mechanic for high-level players. In the developer’s words: “Prestige is a mechanic for high-level players that unlocks a set of new unique rewards and allows them to start their exploration of Tarkov again while retaining part of their progression.” Prestige applies to PvE Zone only.
How Prestige works in PvE Zone
Patch 1.2.0.0 has six PvE Prestige levels. Each Prestige resets progression only for the PvE Zone profile. PvP progression is not described as affected, so a player’s PvP profile is outside the reset.

- Exclusive Top Customs design – crafted to closely resemble Tagilla’s in-game appearance with premium attention to detail
- Made from durable hard PVC, NOT 3D printed, using high-quality injection molding for a clean, professional finish
- Perfect for collection and display alongside your Tarkov gear or gaming setup!
- Ideal gift for your squadmates, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends
- A must-have for Tarkov fans. Whether you’re messing around in the hideout or building the ultimate 'Chad' loadout, this collectible hits hard.
What a Prestige can keep
- Some gear, as stated in the announcement without a fixed list of items.
- A percentage of skills. The announcement does not give a specific skill percentage.
- Weapon mastery, up to 50%. This is the only retention figure the announcement states exactly.
Eligibility requirements
The announcement lists elements that can be part of a Prestige requirement: character level, tasks, Hideout construction, main-story completion, stash contents, money, and skills. These are possible requirements, not a fixed checklist that applies to every level. The notes say requirements become more demanding at higher Prestige levels. The first PvE Prestige level has reduced requirements compared with the PvP equivalent.
Did Tarkov add an offline PvE mode?
No official text in the Patch 1.2.0.0 announcement describes an offline PvE mode. The word “offline” does not appear as a feature in the patch’s PvE bot or Prestige sections. The headline’s wording may refer to a separate feature, a different announcement, or a reader’s assumption about PvE Zone, but none of the official material reviewed establishes that link. Until Battlestate Games names an offline mode in a specific announcement, it should not be treated as part of Patch 1.2.0.0.

Where the stimulant quest line comes from
The quest line for obtaining the 2A2-(b-TG) stimulant appears in an official Escape from Tarkov channel post for patch 0.14.9.6, archived on the official Telegram channel and dated July 2024. According to that post, the quest line is available to owners of any edition of the game. The same post lists several PvE fixes, including a bug affecting AI amount settings, fixes for a DSP radio transmitter, and other PvE behavior corrections.
The older post is the only official source reviewed that names a quest line. Its date and version number place it well before Patch 1.2.0.0, and it should be cited as part of 0.14.9.6.

How to verify a patch claim yourself
- Open the Escape from Tarkov news feed on Steam through the Battlestate Games news page.
- Find the post titled Patch 1.2.0.0, dated October 6, 2026, and read the PvE bot and Prestige sections.
- Search the post for the word “offline”. If it does not appear as a described mode, the patch does not announce one.
- For quest claims, check the post’s version number and date. A quest line listed under 0.14.9.6 belongs to that July 2024 update.
- Treat any claim that conflicts with an official announcement as unverified until the developer confirms it in a dated post.
