Insider Gaming Japan reported on May 10, 2024, that 39 Marvel character names had been datamined from a Marvel Rivals closed-alpha build and posted online by Miller Ross. The report said 20 names had not been officially announced at the time. This was a reported leak—not confirmation that all 39 characters were playable or planned for release. The official alpha roster listed 19 playable characters.
What the 39-character report said
Insider Gaming Japan attributed the list to data found in the April 2024 closed-alpha build. The report’s 39 names were:

- Mantis
- Hawkeye
- Captain America

- Hela
- Cloak & Dagger

The report described 20 of those names as not officially announced when it was published. That is a time-specific statement from May 2024, not a claim about which characters are unannounced today. The list itself does not show whether each name represented a playable character, a completed design, or a commitment to a future release.

What the closed alpha involved
The test was scheduled to run on PC from May 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT through May 20 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The April update said the test would focus on the United States and Canada and that the team was selecting participants from around 30,000 signups; that signup figure was the developer’s approximate number.
The FAQ gave recommended, explicitly non-final PC specifications: Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (Super) or AMD RX 5700-XT, DirectX 12, and 70 GB of SSD space. These were recommendations for that alpha, not current or final system requirements.

The report is useful as a snapshot of names said to have appeared in the April build. It does not independently establish the completeness of the list or verify the underlying file access, and neither the report nor the official alpha roster turns every mined name into a confirmed character release. The official Japanese media index includes reveal videos for some names in the reported list, but it does not validate all 39 entries or make the leak a complete roadmap.
