The generator most players are looking for is in Generator Hall, on the left side of the Power Generation Complex in the northern part of Dam Battlegrounds. It is the location for the Flickering Threat quest, where you repair the generator with four Wires. A second quest, Communication Hideout, uses a different generator in Buried City, so check which quest is active before you travel.
Flickering Threat: Generator Hall in Dam Battlegrounds
Flickering Threat is given by Celeste after the Power Out quest. Its recorded objectives are to find the Generator Room, repair the generator, find the Ventilation Shaft, and enable power using the switch underneath the stairs. The first two objectives take you to Generator Hall, which sits beside the Power Generation Complex in the north of the map.
How to get into Generator Hall
Guides published in November 2025 describe two ways in. Either route works; the ground openings are the faster option.
- Head to the North Complex Elevator, then travel southwest to an open trench.
- Drop onto the walkway below the trench and continue down into the room that holds the generator.
- If you prefer not to drop, nearby doors and hallways also lead into the hall, though they take longer.
Repairing the generator
Once inside Generator Hall, stand between the two elevators. Look at the end of the westernmost elevator, where the repair prompt appears. The repair consumes four Wires, so collect those before you arrive. GameSpot’s walkthrough documents the four-Wire requirement.

Turning on power at the Ventilation Shaft
After the repair, the next objective sends you to the Ventilation Shaft. The sources describe the route in slightly different terms, so treat the in-game objective marker as the final guide.
- GameSpot’s route: leave through the southernmost door, follow the stairs and doors, turn left, and interact with the box in the next room.
- PC Gamer’s route: take the southeast door, climb the stairs, then turn left into the Ventilation Shaft, where the yellow-marked switch sits in the corner.
- Quest objective: the switch you need is the one underneath the stairs. Activate it to enable power.
If the room layout or route has changed since these guides were published, follow the active objective marker.

Communication Hideout: the other generator in Buried City
If your active quest is Communication Hideout, you are not looking for the Dam Battlegrounds generator. The objective is in Buried City, at Red Tower in the south of the map.
- Find the yellow-marked box northeast of Red Tower and retrieve the battery cell inside.
- Turn around and install the battery in the small generator wired to the tower, near the subway entrance.
- Use the switch on the generator to enable power.

Dialogue and what the sources cover
The ARC Raiders Wiki records a line from Celeste, the Flickering Threat quest giver: “Watch your back when you’re in the Power Generation Complex. I don’t want my backup engineer bedridden as well.” This is in-game dialogue, not a statement from the developers.
