How safe spots help during exploration
Techland’s official advice describes these as abandoned locations that players can reactivate. Once activated, a safe zone gives you a place to pass time, check your stash, and use a workbench for crafting. In the words of Techland Game Director Nathan Lemaire, “Safe Zones are your beacons in the darkness of nights: While exploring Castor Woods, you will find abandoned safe zones or safe spots ready to be activated again.” See the full advice in Xbox Wire’s guide to surviving your first nights.

Using safe spots when a night chase starts
Xbox Wire warns that Volatiles are drawn to noise and flashlight use at night. If they start a chase, the official guidance is to run, try to lose them, or make for the closest safe zone or safe spot. Planning a route past activated safe spots can give you a refuge to aim for, but the walkthrough’s list alone does not show which one is nearest to your current position.
Techland’s January 8, 2026 Update 1.5 notes describe an Alpha Volatile in the Nightmare Experience that can track the player across the map until the player reaches a safe zone or kills it. The update notes do not state whether the 24-location inventory changed, so they are not confirmation that this list matches every current build.

The 24 names are the stops shown in Jun Guides’ September 19, 2025 video, not an official Techland count. The available listing gives the names and timestamps, but no verified coordinates or complete written routes. Check the in-game map or a current map resource for exact positions, and treat the names as a checklist rather than proof that every safe spot is included.
