The maximum player level in Avowed is 30. The attribute stat cap is a separate system that Obsidian raised from 15 to 30 with its anniversary update, so the two numbers are easy to confuse.
The maximum player level
Your character’s level tops out at 30. Game8’s Avowed guide states this directly. Obsidian’s own pages that we could check describe progression milestones rather than printing the level cap in those words, so the 30 figure rests on the guide and on the progression structure Obsidian has published.
Where talent points fit in
Obsidian’s Patch 1.3.0 notes say the player receives an additional talent point at levels 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30. The final milestone at 30 is consistent with level 30 being the ceiling, and it is the clearest official reference point for the progression curve.
The attribute stat cap is a different number
Attributes are the core stats your character builds. Obsidian’s anniversary update announcement says: “Attribute stat cap rises from 15 to 30.” That change applies to attribute points, not to character level. A player can be level 30 and still be limited by the attribute cap, and raising that cap does not make the character level go higher.

Does a later patch change the level cap?
Obsidian’s Patch 2.1 notes, dated March 25, 2026, add a community-requested enemy-respawn toggle and bug fixes. Those notes do not mention any change to the maximum player level. That is the latest official update we found that addresses progression, and it does not alter the cap. Because later builds are not covered here, check the official Avowed patch notes if you are reading this long after that date.
