StarRupture’s resource index lists eight ore and extractable resources: Calcium Ore, Goethite Ore, Helium-3, Ignitium, Quartz Ore, Sulphur Ore, Titanium Ore, and Wolfram Ore. They do not all work the same way. Titanium, Wolfram, and Calcium sit in ordinary deposits that an Ore Excavator can work. Helium-3 and Sulphur come from vents that need their own extractors. Quartz and Ignitium appear only during the window that follows a Star Rupture. Exact positions can change with game updates, so confirm each deposit in-game before you build.
Resource-by-resource overview
The table below shows how each resource is collected and what the available guides say about where it appears. Where a cell reads “Not stated,” the StarRupture Wiki guide and the PC Gamer location reports do not give that detail.
| Resource | Collection method | Timing or hazard | Location detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium Ore | Ore Excavator | Not stated | Gray rocky veins; gray circles on the map |
| Wolfram Ore | Ore Excavator | Not stated | Copper-brown veins, often beside a small archway |
| Calcium Ore | Ore Excavator | Not stated | Starter-region deposits reported north and east of the lander |
| Helium-3 | Helium-3 Extractor | Possible hostile creatures on the eastern route | Purple vents east of the lander and farther north |
| Sulphur Ore | Sulfur Extractor | Vents can damage the player | Not stated |
| Goethite Ore | Goethite Laser Drill | Late-game resource; processing requires corporation progression | Not stated |
| Quartz Ore | Mining Tool, gathered by hand | Caves open only during the Scorched Earth phase after a Star Rupture | Not stated |
| Ignitium | Not stated | Mine after temperatures are safe; available only briefly | Glowing red-orange stones on burned ground after a Star Rupture |
Basic ores in ordinary deposits
Three ores come from the standard deposits an Ore Excavator works. The interactive map treats any of these three as a possible content of the same kind of site, so visual cues and in-game inspection matter more than the marker label.
Titanium Ore
Titanium appears as gray, rocky veins. On the map, it is shown with gray circles. Place an Ore Excavator on a confirmed deposit. The StarRupture Wiki describes titanium as an input to a wide range of crafting chains.

Wolfram Ore
Wolfram veins are copper-brown and often sit near a small archway, which makes them easier to spot than they first appear. Mine them with an Ore Excavator. The wiki notes that wolfram is processed into bars, wire, powder, and plates.
Calcium Ore
Calcium is found in pale rocks with black spots, usually near water. PC Gamer’s January 6, 2026 location guide describes large sandstone ledges with puddles and reports deposits almost directly north and east of the starting orbital lander. PC Gamer’s Calcium Ore guide recommends a setup of a Base Core near the vein, power generation, an Ore Excavator, and rails running to production or storage.

Map markers for basic ore deposits can be generic rather than type-specific. Check the ore in-game before you commit to a site.
Helium-3 vents
Helium-3 appears at purple geysers or vents. It cannot be collected with the standard Ore Excavator and requires a dedicated Helium-3 Extractor. In PC Gamer’s January 8, 2026 guide, the closest useful vents are almost directly east of the lander, near Grubbler trees at a mountain base. The guide reports two vents there and another two farther north beyond the mountains. PC Gamer’s Helium guide describes a second powered base fitted with Helium-3 Extractors as the collection setup.

The eastern route may involve hostile creatures, so plan defenses before you set up the extractors.
Sulphur vents
Sulphur comes from dangerous vents, and the Sulfur Extractor is the collection tool named in the wiki guide. Vents can damage the player, so keep health and protection in mind when you approach them. The StarRupture Wiki guide does not give coordinates for Sulphur vents. The community map lists Sulphur locations, but treat those markers as unverified until you have seen them in-game.

Goethite Ore
Goethite is a late-game resource. Collecting it requires a Goethite Laser Drill, and processing it depends on corporation progression. No precise landmark or coordinate for Goethite deposits is established in the available guides. Check a current map and verify the site on arrival.
Post-Rupture resources: Quartz Ore and Ignitium
Quartz and Ignitium are tied to the period after a Star Rupture, so timing matters as much as location.

Quartz Ore
Quartz is found in caves that open during the Scorched Earth phase following a Star Rupture. The StarRupture Wiki guide describes gathering it by hand with the Mining Tool during that temporary window and names no extractor for it. Exact cave positions are not established in the available guides.
Ignitium
Ignitium appears as glowing red-orange stones on burned ground after a Star Rupture. Wait until temperatures are safe, then mine promptly, because the resource is available only for a short period. Exact coordinates are not established in the available guides.
Reading the community map
The Hidden Gaming Lair’s StarRupture map is a useful location-finding aid. Its page was last updated October 5, 2026, and its deposit-marker notes are dated October 6, 2026. Markers that were previously labeled Titanium Ore are now called “Ore Deposit,” because each site can hold Titanium, Wolfram, or Calcium. The map’s database shows possible deposits for those three basic ores.
Use the markers to identify candidate excavator sites, then inspect each deposit in-game to confirm which ore it contains. The map also lists Helium-3, Sulphur, and Goethite locations. The map is a community project, not official game documentation, so treat its positions as leads rather than guarantees.

How much to trust each location
- Calcium and Helium-3 positions come from PC Gamer’s separately written, dated guides, published January 6 and January 8, 2026. They are the most specific geographic claims in the available material, but game updates may have moved them.
- The full resource list and most visual descriptions come from the StarRupture Wiki, a community guide and index. The wiki’s resource index lists eight entries, and its complete resource guide was published March 31, 2026.
- Map markers come from a community-run map with October 2026 update notes. They are useful for finding candidate sites but do not show which ore a deposit holds.
