To find a particular log in Hytale, check the crafting recipe’s tooltip for the trees that drop its required wood type, then search the matching zone and biome. The locations below are a guide-reported snapshot from February 4, 2026—not a guarantee for every world seed or patchline—so confirm the wood type in-game.

How to find and identify logs in Hytale

Official Update 1 added a useful clue: when a recipe requires a specific log type, its tooltip can show which trees drop that type. Wood items also display their type in their own tooltip. For example, the update notes that a Softwood Log recipe hint can list Banyan, Beech, and Aspen. Hytale Update 1

According to the 4Netplayers guide published February 4, 2026, breaking the lowest log of a tree with a fist or axe makes the whole tree collapse. Most trees also yield sticks, fibers, and resin; digging around roots can produce more wood. Logs are used for workbenches, furniture, and fuel, and can be made into planks at the Builder’s Workbench. The guide groups wood into eleven categories, with a few log types outside those categories.

Where do I find each log type in Hytale?

Use the guide’s zone and appearance descriptions as navigation clues, then verify the item and recipe hints in your current game. The terms below are the guide’s reported tree names and habitats.
