For a larger gathering run, loop the oak tree at the center of the Entrance region. Both parts come from breaking acorns, so the job is finding acorns in the soil and then cracking them open.
Where to find acorns
Early route: south of Ranger Outpost: Snackbar
PC Gamer’s July 2025 location guide and a Grounded 2 fan resource guide both point to this area as the first place to look. It sits near the base where the first Omni-Tool upgrades are introduced, which makes it convenient if you are already working through that early progression.
Search slowly. Acorns blend into the dirt and are easy to walk past, so scan the ground in small sections rather than sprinting across the area.
Larger circuit: the central oak in the Entrance region
For a bigger stock-up, travel to the oak in the center of the Entrance region and walk a loop around its base. Both sources list this oak as a second gathering point. The sources do not give route times or measured yields for either spot, so choose based on where you are in the game rather than on any expected return.

Breaking acorns and collecting the parts
Acorn tops and acorn shells are not picked up as loose items from the ground. You collect the acorn itself, break it open, and receive its parts. The reported yield from PC Gamer’s 2025 guide is one acorn top and a couple of shells per acorn. The same guide describes the acorns as respawning daily.
Those figures are a snapshot from a 2025 guide. Developers can change spawn rates, respawn timing, and yields between patches, so if your numbers differ, trust what you see in your own save.

Finding acorns you have already analyzed
If you have analyzed an acorn part, the game can point you to it. Use this sequence:
- Analyze a sample of the acorn part so it is recorded in your resource data.
- Open the map and select the material in the Resource Finder.
- Travel to the marked area shown on the map.
- Use PEEP.R highlighting to make nearby resources stand out so you can spot the acorns in the soil.
This is the most reliable way to return to a known patch, because it removes the guesswork of searching by eye.

The Grounded Wiki resource pages for both acorn shells and acorn tops list the following regions as places to gather them:

- Veggie Garden
The wiki pages do not rank these regions by yield or by how easy they are to reach early on, so treat the list as a set of places to check rather than a priority order.

Start at the Snackbar area for an early run. Once you need more parts, move to the central Entrance oak and use the Resource Finder to return to any analyzed patch.
