The default Satisfactory world has 19 SAM nodes: 10 impure, 6 normal, and 3 pure. The table below gives the map region and X/Y coordinates for each deposit. These are deposit locations—not directions or cave entrances—and locations or purities may differ in saves using resource randomization or purity settings.
Default-world SAM node coordinates
Coordinates are in metres and are transcribed from SatisfactoryBase’s interactive-map node table. Use the region as a broad locator; the coordinate identifies the deposit itself.

How to locate a deposit in your game
- Unlock the map: the in-game map becomes available at Tier 1 – Field Research. Press M to open it. The official Satisfactory Wiki’s Map reference says it displays explored terrain and terrain scanned by Radar Towers.
- Orient yourself at the coordinates: use the in-game coordinate display or coordinate ping to compare your position with the X/Y values in the table.
- Inspect the terrain around the point: if the deposit is underground, you will need to find a cave route. The coordinates do not identify a cave entrance, and no verified entrance or route is specified for each node here.
- Scan when useful: resource-node markers can appear after scanning; the Map reference notes that nodes display permanently after they have been scanned.
SAM can be collected by hand or mined with a Miner from an inexhaustible resource node, according to the official Satisfactory Wiki’s SAM reference. Its research and crafting uses may help you decide whether a distant deposit is useful for your current progression.
Check your save’s resource settings
The coordinates and purities above describe the default world resource layout. SatisfactoryBase warns that Satisfactory 1.2 resource randomization and purity settings can change which resources appear at these positions. If your save uses those settings, verify the node in-game rather than relying on the listed resource or purity.
