Pocket Gamer’s Pokémon Masters EX tier list, updated October 8, 2026 for game version 2.73.0, is the current ranking to start from. Its newest additions are Sygna Suit Lysandre (Alt.) & Chi-Yu and Sygna Suit Ghetsis & Chien-Pao. A tier placement is a general comparison of sync pairs, not a promise that a pair is available to scout today or that it suits your roster and the stage you are playing. Check availability in the game before you spend anything.
What the current ranking covers
The Pocket Gamer article, titled “Pokémon Masters EX tier list – The best sync pairs to use,” was last updated on October 8, 2026, and it is written against game version 2.73.0. Because the ranking is tied to that version, treat it as a snapshot. Pairs can be added, rebalanced, or moved between scouts in later updates, so a placement that reads as current today may not be current next month.
The update note names two additions: Sygna Suit Lysandre (Alt.) & Chi-Yu and Sygna Suit Ghetsis & Chien-Pao. If you are deciding between these two, open the live ranking table and read their placements and the reasoning beside them, because the explanations are what let you apply the ranking to your own team.
Pocket Gamer describes the game as having “over 200” collectible Sync Pairs. That is the publisher’s own description; it is not tied to an independent count, so treat it as a rough scale rather than a verified figure.

Read a tier as a starting point
A tier tells you how a pair is generally regarded in comparison with others. It does not tell you three things a player usually needs to know: whether the pair can be obtained right now, how often it appears in the scout you are looking at, and whether it fits the specific team you are building. Those answers come from the game itself, and the official site directs players to the Offering Rate section of the Sync Pair Scout screen for pairs and rates, and to that screen’s Notes.
Exclusive Sync Pairs are a particular case. The official site notes that they may appear outside their corresponding scouts in the future, so an exclusive label is not a guarantee that a pair will stay out of reach. Do not treat “exclusive” as a reason to skip a pair permanently, and do not treat a high tier as a reason to spend on it while its offering rate is unclear.
Compare pairs on the fields that matter
When you move beyond the tier and compare two pairs directly, the maintained sync-pair reference lists the fields that make a comparison concrete. Use them as the axes for your own side-by-side check:

- Type: the pair’s type, which determines what it hits and what hits it.
- Weakness: the type or condition that threatens the pair; compare it against the stage or the opponents you expect.
- Role: what the pair does within a team, such as attacker, support, or utility.
- EX role: the job the pair does when used as an EX Master, which matters because EX Masters carry a team-wide effect (see below).
- Potential: how far the pair can be developed, which determines how much it can grow with investment.
- Availability: whether and where the pair can be scouted, checked in the game at the time you play.
A pair that ranks well overall can still be a poor fit for a team that already covers its type or role. Two pairs in the same tier may serve very different purposes, so the comparison should start with what your team is missing.

EX Master Sync Pairs and the Stellar type
The official site explains that EX Master Sync Pairs have a Master Passive Skill that strengthens the whole team. That effect applies to the team, not just to the pair itself, so an EX Master’s value depends partly on which other units you field alongside it.
The official site also reports that the Stellar type was added for certain Sync Pairs when they Sync Terastallize. This matters when you check type coverage, because a Sync Pair’s type can change in that state. Confirm how a specific pair’s type reads in its own entry before you plan around it.

Should you pull this banner?
The tier list can answer whether a pair is strong. It cannot answer whether a banner is worth your in-game currency. Work through these checks in order before spending:
- Open the Sync Pair Scout screen for the banner you are considering.
- Read the Offering Rate section to see which pairs are offered and at what rates.
- Read the screen’s Notes, which can change how a listed pair is offered.
- Compare the pairs you actually want against the tier list, using the fields above.
- Spend only if the pair you want is listed, its rate is acceptable to you, and it fills a gap on your team.
If the pair you want is not listed in the current scout, the tier list does not change that. Wait, or choose the strongest available option for the role your team needs.

Building a team for a specific stage
Stage-specific advice is not something this ranking supports. The tier list ranks pairs generally, and the available source does not establish how any pair performs on a particular stage. For that decision, use the reader-facing checks that the tier list makes possible:
- Identify the type or condition your stage most often exposes your team to.
- Check each candidate pair’s weakness against that threat, rather than its tier alone.
- Make sure at least one pair covers the role your team lacks, such as support if you have no healer-type unit.
- Confirm the pairs you plan to use are ones you can actually field in the scout or roster you have.
If two pairs cover the same gap, choose the one whose availability you can count on, and keep the other as a fallback.
