AKIBA LOST is set to launch on Steam on October 20 (PDT), according to an official announcement from its developer and publisher, IzanagiGames. The Steam store page still shows an earlier release date of September 16, 2026, which has already passed, so treat October 20 as the current date and check the store page for an update before you plan around it.
What AKIBA LOST is
AKIBA LOST is a live-action suspense adventure. Its premise centers on six girls who disappeared in Akihabara in an unsolved case known as “The Akiba Vanishing.” The game is built around a creator, Daiki Shinjo, who has made a game based on that incident. As the story goes on, it begins to overlap with reality, because disappearances start happening again.
The Steam demo page highlights three design features:
- Branching choices that change how the story unfolds.
- A character-switching “zapping” system that lets you move between the characters available in the demo.
- A 360-degree camera system for looking around each scene.
The demo lets players experience the available characters through the morning of Day 1 of a seven-day story. The demo’s save data can carry over to the full version, according to the demo page.

Regional release times other than PDT are not stated in the sources reviewed.
The sources reviewed do not confirm whether other platforms will launch on October 20, and they do not document an unlock time on launch day. If you need a specific local time, check the Steam store page on the day of launch.
