There isn’t enough verified catalog information to publish an honest “10 best” list for PS Plus right now. The available official evidence confirms one clear pick: Metro Exodus, listed as a first-person shooter with a PlayStation Plus Extra catalog access option. That is not proof of a ten-game lineup—or a guarantee it is still available in every region—so check your console’s PS Plus hub before downloading.
What’s confirmed on PS Plus
Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus is the only game in the available evidence that is both clearly identified as a first-person shooter and shown with a PS Plus Extra catalog access path. PlayStation Store describes it as an FPS that mixes combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror. Its listing showed Extra catalog access when indexed; catalog membership can change, so verify the current listing before starting it. PlayStation Store: Metro Exodus
That combination makes it a strong option if you want a slower, atmospheric campaign rather than a pure arena shooter. The evidence establishes its genre and access path, but does not establish that it is the best FPS on the service or that it is currently available to every subscriber.
How PS Plus access works
PlayStation’s US catalog page says Game Catalog access is included with Extra and Premium, not Essential. Essential instead includes monthly games and other core benefits. PlayStation separates Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, monthly games and trials; those are different access routes, not interchangeable labels. PlayStation Plus game catalog

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)
- Vertical Stand sold seperately
- Game Catalog: Included with Extra and Premium in the US, subject to catalog availability.
- Monthly games: A separate benefit with a claim window; a monthly game should not be described as an Extra or Premium catalog title.
- Classics Catalog and trials: Separate catalog categories with their own eligibility and access terms.
For example, PlayStation announced Hunt: Showdown 1896 among the October 2026 monthly games. That supports treating it as a monthly offer during its relevant claim window, not as a confirmed Game Catalog title. Check PlayStation’s announcement and your local PS Plus hub for the offer’s dates and eligibility. PlayStation: October 2026 monthly games
Why this isn’t a ten-game ranking
The evidence does not verify ten current PS Plus FPS games, their access categories, or the platforms and tiers required for each. A list based on genre alone—or on an all-platform FPS ranking—would risk presenting games as available when they may not be. GamesRadar+’s September 30, 2026 FPS ranking can help surface candidates, but it does not confirm PS Plus availability. GamesRadar+: best FPS games

A useful list also needs more than catalog presence to justify a “best” label. Once titles are verified, readers should be able to compare combat pace, solo campaign versus multiplayer focus, PS4 or PS5 support, the required access route and tier, and regional availability or claim deadlines. The available evidence does not establish those details for ten games.

- Open the individual game listing and confirm whether it is in Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, a monthly offer or a trial.
- Check the required tier and supported platform on that listing.
- For monthly games, check the claim window; for catalog titles, confirm the game remains available before you plan to play it.
PlayStation warns that catalog titles vary by country or region and directs members to the PS Plus hub on their console for the full local list. Its US catalog page describes the library as large and regularly updated, so a game’s presence can change. PlayStation Plus game catalog
