As of early October 2026, Xbox has not published a complete studio-by-studio list of its first-party projects, and no single official page answers this question in full. What Xbox has disclosed this year is spread across three Xbox Wire posts: the Xbox Developer_Direct 2026 Recap (January 22, 2026), the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 Recap (June 7, 2026), and “Continuing Our Reset” (September 22, 2026), which also reorganized several studios. The table below gives the current public picture for each studio those posts mention, with the date behind every claim. Where Xbox has named no project, the entry says so rather than assuming the team is inactive.

How to read each entry

  • Named project with a credited team: the official post ties a specific game to a specific studio.
  • Franchise link only: a game is tied to a franchise but no team is named. Minecraft Dungeons II is the example here.
  • Organizational change only: a studio has moved into a new group or management structure, with no project named.
  • Under consultation: Microsoft has said a decision is pending, so the outcome is not settled.

What the September headcount figures cover

Microsoft’s September 22 update said it was eliminating 268 roles across Halo Studios, other first-party studios, and XGS management and central functions. That is a workforce figure, not a count of projects or studio teams, and it says nothing about which games a team is making.

The same update characterized the restructuring actions completed since July, including studio divestitures, as roughly three-quarters of the restructuring Microsoft had previously announced.

How to check a studio’s status yourself

  1. Start with the most recent official statement. “Continuing Our Reset” (September 22, 2026) supersedes earlier organizational information, while the June 7 and January 22 recaps are event summaries.
  2. Check whether a release window has passed. Any window from the January or June recaps that has already elapsed needs a newer official confirmation before you repeat it as current.
  3. Separate team credit from franchise association. A title tied to a franchise, such as Minecraft Dungeons II, does not name the team that makes it.
  4. Confirm the publisher and management before assuming them. Undead Labs and the Compulsion and Double Fine returns show that a studio’s publisher or management can change, so use the newest post that names them.
  5. Follow consultations to a result. Ninja Theory and Arkane were still in consultation in the September update, so do not state an outcome until an official follow-up exists.
  6. Do not read silence as inactivity. The official posts are not complete project lists, so a studio absent from the showcases may still have work that has not been announced.
