The most reliable Battlefield 6 DirectX troubleshooting sequence is: restart Windows, update the game, repair its files, reset the local settings folder, clean-install or roll back the graphics driver, return the PC to stock settings, disable overlays, and test with a frame-rate cap and Frame Generation or upscaling disabled.

A DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET, GetDeviceRemovedReason, or m_submitFencePlat->GetCompletedValue() message usually means Battlefield 6 lost access to the GPU or Windows recovered from a graphics timeout. It does not automatically mean that DirectX is missing or that the graphics card is physically defective. There is no universal fix: the cause can be a game bug, driver regression, corrupted settings, overlays, unstable clocks, heat, power delivery, or another hardware problem.

This guide applies to the Windows PC version only. DirectX errors do not apply to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series versions.

What a Battlefield 6 DirectX error actually means

These are graphics-device errors reported by the game or the DirectX graphics infrastructure:

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming OC 16G Graphics Card, WINDFORCE Cooling System, 16GB 256-bit GDDR7, GV-N5080GAMING OC-16GD Video Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5080
  • Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface

  • DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG — error 0x887A0006.
  • DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED — error 0x887A0005.
  • DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET — error 0x887A0007.
  • GetDeviceRemovedReason — a Direct3D diagnostic call used to find out why the device was lost.

Microsoft describes DEVICE_HUNG as a device failure associated with badly formed commands, while DEVICE_REMOVED means that the graphics device was removed or reset. A driver failure or driver upgrade can also lead to a removed-device result. See Microsoft’s DXGI error reference for the definitions.

Windows has a timeout detection and recovery system, commonly called TDR. With its default behavior, Windows can decide that the GPU has stopped responding after approximately two seconds, reset the graphics driver, and return control to the desktop. A demanding render operation, malformed command, driver fault, unstable overclock, overheating, insufficient power, or faulty component can therefore appear to Battlefield 6 as a device-hung or device-removed crash. This is explained in Microsoft’s documentation for timeout detection and recovery.

The error alone does not prove that the GPU is defective. It only establishes that the game lost a usable graphics device at that moment. The troubleshooting steps below are ordered from low-risk checks to more invasive diagnostics.

Before changing anything: check the game version and requirements

Update Battlefield 6 first

As of August 10, 2026, the latest official Battlefield 6 update identified for this guide is Game Update 1.4.1.5, announced on August 3 and released on August 4, 2026. EA says that update fixed a specific PC stability problem in which certain NVIDIA GPUs could crash when players changed attachments on the SOR-300SC, used Custom Search, or played on maps with large bodies of water. Read the official update notes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That patch does not prove that every remaining DXGI crash has been fixed. If your crash matches one of those triggers, update the game before changing Windows, the registry, or security settings. If the crash began immediately after a game update, record the version and exact trigger; that information is useful when determining whether the problem is a new game-and-driver interaction.

Compare the PC with EA’s current requirements

Use EA’s dedicated Battlefield 6 system-requirements page rather than relying on older articles. The current table lists:

Requirement Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 10 Windows 11
CPU Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Memory 16 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
GPU NVIDIA RTX 2060, AMD RX 5600 XT 6GB, or Intel Arc A380 NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, AMD RX 6700 XT, or Intel Arc B580
VRAM 6 GB 8 GB
DirectX DX12 DX12
Storage 55 GiB HDD 80 GiB SSD
Other requirements TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, and HVCI/VBS capability

EA’s separate FAQ still displays older 60 GB and 90 GB storage figures. The dedicated requirements page is the better reference for the current game requirements.

Meeting the minimum specification does not guarantee stability. A system can meet it and still crash because of a driver regression, game bug, excessive temperature, power instability, corrupted files, or an unstable memory or GPU setting.

12 Battlefield 6 DirectX fixes, ranked from safest to most invasive

1. Fully restart the PC

Close Battlefield 6 and its launcher, then choose Restart in Windows. Do not treat merely closing and reopening the game as the same test.

EA’s Battlefield 6 error guidance specifically recommends restarting for DXGI_ERROR_ and DEVICE_HUNG messages. A background application or partially recovered graphics driver can remain in a bad state until Windows restarts.

What it changes: It clears the current driver and background-process state. Safety: Safe and reversible. Expected result: Battlefield 6 reaches the menu or completes a match without immediately crashing. If it fails: Continue to the update check instead of repeatedly relaunching the unchanged game.

2. Update Battlefield 6 and compare the crash with known issues

Open the launcher that owns the installation—Steam, the EA app, or Epic Games Store—and check for a pending Battlefield 6 update. Allow the update to finish before testing again.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Gaming OC 16G Graphics Card, 16GB 256-bit GDDR7, PCIe 5.0, WINDFORCE Cooling System, GV-N507TGAMING OC-16GD Video Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  • Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
  • PCIe 5.0
  • WINDFORCE cooling system

Pay particular attention to whether the crash happens while changing SOR-300SC attachments, using Custom Search, or entering a map with a large body of water. Those symptoms overlap the NVIDIA stability issue addressed by update 1.4.1.5. If the update resolves the trigger, no driver or registry change is needed.

What it changes: Replaces the game build with the latest available files. Safety: Safe; launcher updates are reversible only through a later patch or rollback supplied by the publisher. Expected result: The documented crash scenario no longer occurs. If it fails: Continue with the requirements, file-repair, and driver checks. Do not assume that the patch fixed every DirectX error.

3. Confirm the GPU, RAM, Windows version, and DirectX information

Windows includes a diagnostic report that gives you the information EA or a driver vendor will need:

  1. Press Windows + R.
  2. Type dxdiag and press Enter.
  3. Check the System and Display tabs for Windows, CPU, RAM, DirectX, GPU, VRAM, and driver details.
  4. Select Save All Information if you need to attach the report to a support request.

Compare the report with EA’s current requirements. Battlefield 6 requires DX12 and at least 16 GB of RAM, with a GPU in at least the RTX 2060, RX 5600 XT 6GB, or Arc A380 class.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What it changes: Nothing; this is a diagnostic check. Safety: Completely safe. Expected result: You identify whether the PC is below the supported target or whether the problem needs software and stability testing. If it fails: A compliant system is not cleared of all possible causes—continue to repair the game files.

4. Repair or verify the Battlefield 6 files

A damaged or incomplete game file can cause a crash at startup, during shader compilation, or when a particular asset is loaded.

EA app

  1. Open the EA app and go to Library.
  2. Find Battlefield 6.
  3. Select the game’s Manage icon or three-dot menu.
  4. Choose Repair.
  5. Wait for the scan and replacement process to finish before launching the game.

EA documents this procedure for games that fail to load or crash in its EA app download, install, and load troubleshooting guide.

Steam

  1. Restart Windows, then open Steam.
  2. Right-click Battlefield 6 in the Library, or select its gear icon.
  3. Choose Properties.
  4. Open Installed Files.
  5. Select Verify integrity of game files.

Steam warns that some files may fail verification because they are local configuration files. That can be normal and does not necessarily mean that the repair failed. Its procedure is documented in Steam Support’s file-verification guide.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What it changes: Replaces files that fail the launcher’s check. Safety: Safe; personal settings may be recreated or rechecked, so back up custom settings if they matter. Expected result: The game gets past the point where a damaged asset or executable caused the crash. If it fails: Reset the local settings rather than reinstalling DirectX.

5. Reset Battlefield 6’s local settings folder

A corrupt or incompatible graphics option can crash Battlefield 6 while it loads the menu, compiles shaders, enters a match, or applies a new graphics setting. Reset only the settings folder first:

  1. Close Battlefield 6 and its launcher.
  2. Open C:Users<YourName>DocumentsBattlefield 6.
  3. Make a backup copy of the settings folder.
  4. Rename the original folder to settings_old.
  5. Launch the game and let it create a fresh settings folder.

For some Steam installations, the profile can be under:

C:Users<YourName>DocumentsBattlefield 6settingssteam

The PROFSAVE_profile file contains important configuration information such as graphics and control settings. Backing up the folder before renaming it is therefore worthwhile. The path and backup considerations are also described in this Battlefield 6 configuration-file guide.

ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Graphics Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
  • Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

Renaming the settings folder resets local configuration; it is not the same as deleting online progression. Do not delete the entire Battlefield 6 Documents folder without a backup.

What it changes: Forces default graphics, control, and profile configuration to be generated. Safety: Reversible if you keep settings_old; you may need to redo controls and graphics options. Expected result: The game starts with default settings. If it fails: Restore the backup and proceed to driver testing.

6. Perform a clean graphics-driver installation

A regular driver update can leave old profiles or damaged components behind. Use the installation option supplied by your GPU vendor.

If you are not intentionally testing a known-good rollback, Outbyte Driver Updater is an optional way to identify missing or outdated Windows hardware drivers before using the manufacturer’s package.

NVIDIA

  1. Download the driver for the exact GPU model from NVIDIA’s official driver page.
  2. Start the installer.
  3. Choose Custom (Advanced).
  4. Select Perform a clean installation.
  5. Restart Windows.

Driver versions change frequently, so do not select a permanent driver number based on an old article. NVIDIA’s installer options are illustrated in its official documentation.

AMD

  1. Download AMD Cleanup Utility from AMD.
  2. Run it and allow the recommended Safe Mode restart when prompted.
  3. Let the cleanup finish.
  4. Restart Windows.
  5. Install the current graphics driver from AMD’s official support page.

AMD says Safe Mode is recommended and that a restart is required for the cleanup to take effect. See the AMD Cleanup Utility instructions.

Laptop exception: Check the laptop manufacturer’s graphics driver first. OEM packages can contain display, power, hybrid-GPU, or mux-switch customizations that a generic NVIDIA or AMD package may not include.

What it changes: Removes or replaces the graphics driver and its profiles. Safety: Standard vendor procedure, but the display can temporarily use a basic driver until installation is complete. Expected result: A corrupted driver component or profile is eliminated. If it fails: Test the previous known-good driver, especially if the crash began after a recent update.

7. Test the previous driver after a suspected regression

The newest driver is not always the correct driver for a particular game build. Use this decision rule:

  • If the crash existed before the driver update, clean-install the current driver first.
  • If the crash began immediately after the driver update, test the previous driver that was known to work.
  • If only Battlefield 6 crashes while other demanding games remain stable, suspect a game-and-driver interaction before concluding that the GPU is defective.

Download an older driver only from the GPU manufacturer, and avoid choosing a version solely because it appears in a forum comment. AMD’s system-stability guidance recommends checking release notes and reverting to the last working driver when a known issue has no available fix. The same diagnostic logic is useful for NVIDIA drivers.

What it changes: Tests whether a recent driver introduced a regression. Safety: Reversible, provided you keep the current installer and restore it later. Expected result: The crash stops on the older driver. If it fails: Return to the supported current driver and continue with stock settings and load testing.

8. Return the PC to stock settings

Temporarily disable all performance tuning:

  • GPU overclocking and undervolting
  • CPU overclocking
  • Memory profiles such as XMP or EXPO
  • Third-party automatic tuning
  • Custom voltage or power-limit settings

Also inspect GPU and CPU temperatures, confirm that desktop GPU power cables are secure, check PSU capacity and stability, and make sure the graphics card is properly seated. Test whether other demanding games show similar crashes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Microsoft lists overclocked components, incorrect memory configuration, insufficient cooling, insufficient power, and defective components among possible contributors to GPU timeout failures in its TDR timeout guidance.

ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 OC EditionGaming Graphics Card
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4 OC mode: 2640MHz/Default mode: 2610MHz (Boost Clock)
  • Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.125-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

What it changes: Removes variables that can make the GPU or memory unstable. Safety: Reversible, although performance may temporarily decrease. Expected result: Battlefield 6 becomes stable at default clocks. If it fails: Keep the system at stock while testing the frame-rate and rendering options below; if the whole PC crashes, investigate hardware rather than applying more game tweaks.

9. Reduce rendering stress and cap the frame rate

Use Battlefield 6’s own graphics settings first. EA recommends capping the frame rate and enabling V-Sync when troubleshooting crashes or freezes; its broader crash and freezing guide covers those steps.

For a diagnostic test, try:

  • A frame-rate cap below the monitor’s maximum refresh rate
  • V-Sync enabled
  • Lower texture, effects, mesh, and post-processing quality
  • Lower resolution or render scale
  • Frame Generation disabled
  • Upscaling disabled or changed to a simpler mode
  • HDR disabled temporarily
  • Ray-tracing features disabled, if available in the current build

The last four are diagnostic suggestions, not guaranteed EA fixes. If the crash disappears after disabling Frame Generation or upscaling, that points to a rendering-path or driver interaction; it does not prove that a specific vendor or feature is universally defective. Re-enable one option at a time to find the working combination.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What it changes: Reduces peak GPU, VRAM, and rendering-path stress. Safety: Safe and reversible, with a possible image-quality or performance trade-off. Expected result: Fewer crashes during heavy scenes. If it fails: Restore settings one at a time later and disable overlays before making more invasive changes.

10. Disable overlays, capture hooks, and background applications

Temporarily disable or close:

  • Discord, Steam, and EA overlays
  • NVIDIA App or AMD recording and metrics overlays
  • Xbox Game Bar
  • MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner overlays
  • OBS capture hooks
  • RGB and peripheral-control utilities
  • VPNs and unnecessary monitoring tools

EA recommends closing background applications and using a clean boot when another process may be interfering with a game.

Clean-boot test

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Open the Services tab.
  3. Check Hide all Microsoft services.
  4. Select Disable all.
  5. Open Task Manager from the Startup tab.
  6. Disable nonessential startup items.
  7. Restart Windows and test Battlefield 6.

Restore normal startup services and startup items after the test. A clean boot is a diagnostic, not a recommended permanent setup. Do not disable Windows security protections broadly just to perform this test.

What it changes: Removes third-party overlays and hooks from the test environment. Safety: Reversible, but record what you disable so it can be restored. Expected result: The crash stops when a conflicting overlay or background tool is absent. If it fails: Re-enable the tested applications and move to the dedicated-GPU check or runtime-specific troubleshooting.

11. Force Battlefield 6 to use the dedicated GPU

This is mainly useful on laptops and other hybrid-graphics systems:

  1. Open Windows Settings.
  2. Go to System > Display > Graphics.
  3. Add the Battlefield 6 executable if it is not listed.
  4. Select the game and choose Options.
  5. Choose High performance.
  6. Save the setting and relaunch the game.

Windows can assign applications to an integrated or discrete GPU according to power and application policy. Microsoft explains this behavior in its GPU guidance.

If the option is missing or has no effect, use the laptop manufacturer’s control panel or BIOS/mux-switch setting. On a desktop, confirm that the monitor cable is connected to the graphics card rather than the motherboard video output.

What it changes: Sets the game’s preferred GPU. Safety: Safe and reversible. Expected result: The game stops launching on an integrated GPU with insufficient performance or features. If it fails: Continue with the appropriate runtime, anti-cheat, or reinstall path.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

12. Repair runtimes, EA components, or reinstall the game

This final step should be matched to the error text. It is not a reason to reinstall every component on the PC.

For missing DLL or launch errors

If the message specifically names a missing DLL rather than a DXGI device failure, install or repair the current Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables for both x64 and x86 where applicable. Microsoft’s supported Visual C++ Redistributable guidance explains the runtime requirement and provides the official downloads.

The Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime can supply older optional components needed by legacy games, but it does not upgrade the installed DX12 graphics runtime. Microsoft explicitly says it does not replace the DirectX version included with Windows. It may help with a missing legacy DLL; it is not the primary fix for DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG or DEVICE_REMOVED. See Microsoft’s DirectX installation explanation.

For an EA Javelin Anti-Cheat error

Battlefield 6 uses EA Javelin Anti-Cheat, not Easy Anti-Cheat. For a Javelin-specific message, EA’s current guidance includes restarting the EA app as administrator, launching the game through the EA app, and reinstalling Javelin Anti-Cheat when necessary. Those steps are relevant to anti-cheat launch failures, not a proven solution for a normal DXGI device crash.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Reinstall only after the earlier tests

  1. Back up the Battlefield 6 Documents settings folder.
  2. Uninstall Battlefield 6 from its launcher.
  3. Restart Windows.
  4. Reinstall the game.
  5. Repair or reinstall the EA app if the installation uses it.
  6. Launch the clean installation before restoring custom settings.

EA includes game and EA app reinstallation among its escalation steps for persistent crashing. Reinstalling is safe but time-consuming and may not help if the underlying cause is a driver, hardware, or unpatched game issue.

Experimental community workaround: forcing DX11

Unsupported and experimental: EA’s current Battlefield 6 requirements list DX12 for both minimum and recommended configurations. Do not treat a DX11 launch flag as an official or guaranteed fix.

Community posts have reported trying launch options such as:

-dx11

Some reports also mention -d3d11 or -RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 1. Results are inconsistent: the option may do nothing, may provide temporary relief for some configurations, or may prevent the game from launching. If you test one, use only one option at a time, record the original launcher settings, and remove the option immediately if Battlefield 6 will not start. Community discussion is available in this EA Forums thread.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not use this experiment instead of updating the game, repairing files, resetting settings, testing a clean driver, and returning overclocked hardware to stock.

Choose the first fix by symptom

Symptom Start with
Crash while changing SOR-300SC attachments Update Battlefield 6 to 1.4.1.5 or later, then retest.
Crash on maps with large bodies of water Update, test a clean or previous GPU driver, and disable overlays, Frame Generation, and upscaling.
Crash while using Custom Search Update first because this overlaps the NVIDIA issue documented in 1.4.1.5.
Crash at the menu or during shader compilation Repair files, reset the settings folder, disable overlays, and clean-install the graphics driver.
Crash after 30–60 minutes Check stock clocks, temperatures, power delivery, VRAM pressure, frame-rate cap, and driver rollback.
Laptop appears to use the integrated GPU Set Battlefield 6 to High performance under Settings > System > Display > Graphics.
Missing DLL message Install the appropriate Visual C++ Redistributable; use the legacy DirectX runtime only when the missing component is actually a legacy DirectX file.
EA Javelin Anti-Cheat error Follow EA’s Javelin-specific repair path, not Easy Anti-Cheat instructions.
Black screen, full system freeze, reboot, or BSOD Stop applying game-only tweaks and investigate drivers, temperatures, PSU, BIOS, Event Viewer, Reliability Monitor, and hardware stability.

What not to do

  • Do not download random DLL files. Use the official Microsoft runtime packages or repair the game files instead.
  • Do not reinstall DirectX as the first response. DX12 is supplied through supported Windows versions, and the legacy End-User Runtime does not reinstall DX12.
  • Do not disable every Exploit Protection mitigation. That reduces Windows security without establishing that exploit protection caused the crash. Only apply a narrowly targeted change when an official, verified diagnostic specifically identifies it.
  • Do not edit TDR registry values such as TdrDelay as a first-line fix. Microsoft describes TDR registry keys as testing and debugging controls and warns that end users should not manipulate them casually. See Microsoft’s TDR registry-key documentation.
  • Do not apply a universal pagefile formula. The often-repeated rule of setting the initial pagefile to 1.5 times RAM and the maximum to three times RAM is not a Battlefield 6 requirement. For most users, leave Windows’ paging-file management enabled and keep adequate free space on the system drive.
  • Do not repair Easy Anti-Cheat for a Battlefield 6 Javelin error. They are different anti-cheat systems.
  • Do not assume the latest graphics driver is always best. A driver regression is possible, so compare the current driver with the previous known-good release.
  • Do not delete the entire Documents folder without a backup. Rename the settings folder first.
  • Do not assume a DX11 flag is officially supported. EA lists DX12 for Battlefield 6; community launch flags are experiments.

When a DirectX crash is probably more than a game setting

If Battlefield 6 crashes only in one map, when a specific weapon attachment is changed, or only after a particular update, a game-and-driver bug remains plausible. If it crashes after sustained load, when the GPU is hot, or in several demanding games, prioritize system stability. Microsoft specifically identifies temperature, power, memory configuration, overclocking, and hardware faults as possible contributors to TDR failures.

A recent EA Forums report described a Battlefield 6 DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG crash alongside a Windows Desktop Window Manager crash in amdxx64.dll, an older AMD graphics driver, and outdated audio or peripheral drivers. That is one user report—not proof that all AMD crashes share the same cause—but it is a useful reminder to collect a current DxDiag and check related system drivers rather than focusing only on DirectX. The report is available on EA Forums.

For a full black screen, reboot, freeze, or blue screen, search Start for Reliability Monitor and open View reliability history. You can also open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and inspect entries around the crash time for display-driver failures, Kernel-Power events, or other hardware-related errors. A full system failure deserves hardware, cooling, PSU, BIOS, chipset, and driver investigation—not endless launch-option changes.

If broader Windows errors or instability appear alongside the game crash, Outbyte PC Repair is an optional tool to consider for related Windows repair and cleanup, not a substitute for GPU, game-file, or hardware testing.

What to send to EA if none of the fixes work

After testing repaired files, fresh settings, a clean or previous driver, stock hardware, disabled overlays, and reduced rendering features, the remaining problem may be an unresolved Battlefield 6 or driver defect. Report it through EA Help or the EA Forums with:

  • The complete error text and code
  • GPU model and current driver version
  • CPU, RAM amount, and Windows version/build
  • Whether the game uses the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games Store
  • Battlefield 6 game version
  • Map, mode, menu, weapon, or action that triggers the crash
  • Whether overlays, recording, Frame Generation, upscaling, HDR, or ray tracing are enabled
  • Whether the GPU, CPU, or memory is overclocked or undervolted
  • A saved dxdiag report
  • Relevant Reliability Monitor or Event Viewer entries
  • Whether other demanding games also crash

This information distinguishes a reproducible game bug from a driver regression or wider system instability and prevents support from having to guess which of the 12 fixes you already tried.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Battlefield 6 DXGI errors are usually graphics-device-loss or timeout symptoms, not proof that DirectX needs reinstalling. Start with a Windows restart, the latest game update, repaired files, and a fresh settings folder. Then clean-install or roll back the GPU driver, remove overclocks and overlays, cap the frame rate, and test the rendering features. If the entire PC freezes or reboots, switch from game tweaks to hardware and driver diagnostics. If the issue remains after a clean, stock, reproducible test, treat it as a possible game-and-driver bug and report the complete evidence to EA.
