No officially supported Green Hell dedicated-server product could be verified as of August 18, 2026. Green Hell supports online co-op through a host-client system: one player’s game acts as the session server, and the official co-op announcement describes a maximum of four players. Renting a normal game-server package from GPORTAL, Nitrado, or another provider therefore does not automatically create a persistent Green Hell world.
The short answer
There is no defensible list of six Green Hell dedicated-server providers to rank. The official Steam listing identifies online co-op, while a Creepy Jar developer explains that the player hosting a multiplayer session is the server for that session. No official dedicated-server executable, deployment method, server port, RCON system, or provider-supported Green Hell server product was verified.
That means a conventional rented server is not the normal solution for keeping a Green Hell world online when the original host is away.
How Green Hell multiplayer works
Green Hell uses player-hosted co-op rather than a documented headless dedicated server. The practical flow is:
#1 Best Overall
- HOW TO PLAY: The Dealer draws a Scenario Card and reads it aloud. The other players choose two of their Action Cards and play them, facedown. The Dealer shuffles the Action Cards and picks the one they definitely would not do, saying "HELL NO!" Then, they pick the Action Card they definitely would do, saying "HELL YEAH!"
- SITUATION: While scuba diving, your wound starts bleeding, and sharks begin to circle. What do you do?
- ACTION: Ask for an autograph! Hell No
- ACTION: Use your jetpack to escape! Hell Yeah
- REPEAT PLAY: With 135 Situation Cards and 387 Action Cards you'll never run out of wild predicaments
- Launch Green Hell.
- Open the multiplayer or co-op option.
- Choose the available lobby visibility or privacy setting.
- Invite friends through the supported platform interface.
- Load or create the co-op save as the host.
- Have friends join the host’s session.
Creepy Jar’s official co-op announcement describes invite-only, Steam Friends, and public lobbies, and states that co-op supports up to four players. Treat that as the supported ceiling for the documented mode; unofficial modifications should not be presented as expanded official capacity.
What happens when the host is offline?
The co-op session is tied to the host’s game client. Friends should not expect the world to remain independently available like a dedicated-server save. A host disconnect can end or disrupt the session, and the host’s machine and save become central to continued play.

- Take turns being the judge: players take turns being the judge deciding who wins the round; the player with the most photo cards wins the raising Hell card game
- Includes 372 cards: The raising Hell party game includes 300 caption cards and 72 photo cards; The player with the best caption for each photo round wins
Exact menu labels can vary by current PC and console build, so use the platform’s current in-game multiplayer interface rather than relying on an old step-by-step guide.
Dedicated server, VPS, and cloud PC: three different things
| Option | What it does | Is it an official Green Hell dedicated server? |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated game server | Runs a separate server process continuously without a player’s game client. | No supported product or deployment path was verified. |
| VPS | Provides a rented virtual machine, often intended for headless software. | Not shown to be a supported solution. |
| Cloud PC or remote desktop | Runs the full game client remotely so it can host a player session. | No. This would be an unofficial client-hosting workaround. |
| Cloud gaming | Streams an individual player’s game session. | No. It does not create a persistent multiplayer server. |
A normal VPS may lack the graphics environment, platform authentication, and persistent desktop session needed to run the complete Green Hell client. A cloud PC could theoretically host the client, but it may require a logged-in account and could fail after crashes, updates, authentication problems, or network disconnects. That is a technical experiment, not an ordinary hosting recommendation.

Are GPORTAL, Nitrado, or other major hosts compatible?
Not on the evidence available for this article. A provider’s general game-server catalog does not prove that Green Hell has a supported server product.
| Provider | Green Hell-specific product verified? | Editorial conclusion |
|---|---|---|
| GPORTAL | Not established by the reviewed catalog. | Do not recommend as a Green Hell host. |
| Nitrado | Not established by the reviewed catalog. | Do not recommend as a Green Hell host. |
| GTXGaming | No current first-party Green Hell evidence was verified. | Do not rank. |
| Host Havoc | No current first-party Green Hell evidence was verified. | Do not rank. |
| PingPerfect | No current first-party Green Hell evidence was verified. | Do not rank. |
| Survival Servers | No current first-party Green Hell evidence was verified. | Do not rank. |
“Not verified” is not the same as proving that a company can never host the game. It means the reviewed material does not establish a current, provider-supported Green Hell dedicated-server offering. Generic claims about instant setup, FTP, backups, mods, server locations, or configurable slots apply only if the specific game product supports them.

The supported way to play with friends
For a normal group, use Green Hell’s built-in online co-op and keep the group within the documented four-player limit. Choose a dependable host with a stable connection, use platform invitations, and agree in advance who controls the shared save and progression.
The host should maintain redundant backups of the co-op save. Do not assume that switching hosts or migrating a world will be seamless without current, tested instructions.

Basic troubleshooting
- Confirm every player is running the same game version.
- Restart the host and all clients.
- Use direct platform invitations if public discovery is unreliable.
- Verify PC game files where that option is available.
- Check firewall and platform-network permissions.
- Try fewer players to isolate synchronization problems.
- Contact Creepy Jar support resources for persistent technical faults.
Because the host is the session server, connection and synchronization failures should first be investigated as host-client or network problems—not as a shortage of rented server RAM.
If the host cannot be online
There is no verified official Green Hell hosting option that solves this persistence requirement. Your practical choices are:
- Rotate hosts: have another player host when the usual host is unavailable.
- Keep the host machine available: play only when the owner can launch and maintain the session.
- Test a remote full-client setup: use a cloud PC only if you understand graphics, account, restart, backup, and update requirements. Confirm that the provider permits the use.
- Choose another survival game: if 24/7 persistence, offline access for the original host, server-side configuration, or larger communities are essential, use a game with official dedicated-server support.
Unofficial patches and player-count mods
Community discussions have mentioned unofficial attempts to expand player counts or alter multiplayer behavior. These are not dedicated-server products and should be treated as unsupported, version-sensitive experiments. They may be abandoned, incompatible with unmodified players, broken by updates, or unsafe to install without independent verification. Do not pay a hosting company on the assumption that an unofficial patch provides a stable persistent world.
Before paying for “Green Hell server hosting”
Require all of the following from a vendor:
- A current Green Hell-specific product page.
- Explicit support for the current game version.
- Documentation showing the server software and launch method.
- Confirmation that no logged-in game client is required.
- Save backup and migration instructions.
- Clear refund terms if the advertised product does not work.
If a listing only names Green Hell alongside unrelated survival games, or offers generic VPS specifications without game-specific documentation, do not treat it as proof of compatibility.
Verdict
There is no reliable six-provider ranking for Green Hell dedicated servers based on the verified evidence. Green Hell’s supported multiplayer model is player-hosted online co-op for up to four players, not a documented persistent dedicated server. Use the built-in co-op system, investigate a remote game-client workaround only as an unsupported technical project, or choose a different survival game if dedicated-server persistence is essential.
