You may see one of these messages when an application starts:
- “The program can’t start because bsmobilesdk.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “This application failed to start because bsmobilesdk.dll was not found.”
- “Error loading bsmobilesdk.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “The file bsmobilesdk.dll is missing or corrupted.”
- “A required component is missing: bsmobilesdk.dll. Please install the application again.”
These are commonly reported error strings, not proof that Windows itself owns the file.
The 60-second answer
bsmobilesdk.dll is a third-party Bluetooth component associated with IVT Corporation’s BlueSoleil software. Public metadata identifies it as a Bluetooth application file, commonly listed as BsMobileSDK, rather than as a Microsoft Windows component.
The safest fix is to identify the program showing the error, then repair or reinstall the complete BlueSoleil or OEM Bluetooth package that originally installed the DLL. Do not download a loose copy and place it in System32 or SysWOW64.

If your Bluetooth adapter works with Windows’ built-in Bluetooth support, removing obsolete BlueSoleil software and installing the adapter manufacturer’s current driver may be the better long-term fix.
What causes bsmobilesdk.dll errors
The usual causes are:
- BlueSoleil or an OEM Bluetooth package was incompletely installed, removed, updated, or damaged.
- Antivirus software quarantined the DLL.
- An older BlueSoleil stack conflicts with Windows or a newer Bluetooth driver.
- The application is loading a DLL with the wrong architecture or incompatible version.
- Another dependency of the DLL is missing.
- A broader Windows component problem is interfering with startup.
- The installed software or DLL has been tampered with.
BlueSoleil was also bundled with some USB Bluetooth adapters. The program reporting the error may therefore be an adapter utility rather than an application you recognize as BlueSoleil.
Fix 1: Identify the program that needs the DLL
Before repairing anything, find the executable that is requesting bsmobilesdk.dll. This prevents you from repairing the wrong Bluetooth package.
Check the error window
Read the title bar and body of the error. It may identify the application, adapter utility, launcher, or installer that failed.
If the message appears during sign-in:
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+Esc. - Select Startup apps.
- Look for BlueSoleil, Bluetooth utilities, or software supplied with an older USB adapter.
- Right-click a suspicious entry and choose Open file location, if available.
Check installed applications
On Windows 11:
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for
BlueSoleil,IVT,Bluetooth, or the name of your adapter manufacturer. - Select the three-dot menu beside a matching program.
On Windows 10:
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Apps & features.
- Search the installed-program list for the same terms.
Also inspect desktop shortcuts and the Target field under Shortcut > Properties. The folder containing the application often identifies the package that owns the missing DLL.
Search for existing copies
In File Explorer, search the affected drive for:
bsmobilesdk.dll
If you find a copy, note its complete folder path. A copy inside a BlueSoleil or adapter-software folder is more useful than a copy in an unrelated location. Do not assume that every copy is interchangeable.
If the error says “specified module could not be found” even though the file exists, another dependency may be missing. The parent application still needs to be repaired as a complete package.
Fix 2: Repair or reinstall BlueSoleil or the OEM package
This is the primary repair for this file.
Try Windows app repair
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find BlueSoleil, IVT, or the Bluetooth software supplied with your adapter.
- Select the three-dot menu.
- Choose Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
- Start the affected program again.
Windows 10 may show the same option under Apps & features after selecting the application and choosing Advanced options.

If the error remains:
- Return to the application’s settings page.
- Select Reset only if you understand that it may remove the application’s settings.
- If repair and reset fail, uninstall the application.
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall the complete package from the Bluetooth adapter manufacturer, the original installation media, or a trusted IVT/BlueSoleil installation source.
Do not install two competing Bluetooth stacks just to make the error disappear. If you install a newer adapter driver, remove the obsolete BlueSoleil software first unless the manufacturer specifically requires it.
Check whether Windows can replace BlueSoleil
Many current Windows systems can provide Bluetooth support without a separate Bluetooth stack. If your adapter is supported:
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Select Add device > Bluetooth.
- Test whether Windows can discover and connect to the device.
- Test the profiles you actually use, such as audio or file transfer.
If everything works, uninstall the old BlueSoleil application:
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select the BlueSoleil or OEM Bluetooth utility.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Restart the computer.
- Install the current driver supplied for your adapter, if Windows does not provide one automatically.
The original Bluetooth package remains the definitive repair when a particular application still depends on bsmobilesdk.dll.
Fix 3: Check Microsoft Defender quarantine
A security product may have removed the DLL from an otherwise valid installation.
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent actions involving
bsmobilesdk.dllor the BlueSoleil installation folder. - Expand an entry to view its detected path and action.
Do not restore an unexplained DLL merely because an application requests it. First verify that the original installer came from the adapter manufacturer, IVT/BlueSoleil, or your original media. Scan the complete package, not just the missing file.
If the package is legitimate and Defender quarantined a file incorrectly, use the available Restore or Allow on device action, then reinstall or repair the complete application. Reinstalling the package is preferable to restoring a loose DLL because it also restores its dependencies and registration data.
Fix 4: Update or reinstall the Bluetooth driver
A driver conflict can leave an old Bluetooth utility unable to start.

- What Can I do if the Bluetooth adapter can not work?: Ensure there are no other Bluetooth devices installed on the computer. If there are, disable all existing Bluetooth devices in "Device Manager", then insert the adapter and try again. (For detailed information please read the user manual)
- Press
Win+X. - Select Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the affected adapter.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows after the process completes.
If the adapter still fails:
- In Device Manager, right-click the adapter.
- Select Uninstall device.
- If shown, select the option to remove the driver package.
- Select Uninstall.
- Restart the computer.
- Install the current driver from the adapter manufacturer or let Windows reinstall a compatible driver.
Do not install a random driver based only on a similar adapter name. Confirm the hardware model in Device Manager > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids and match it to the manufacturer’s package.

Fix 5: Check 32-bit and 64-bit compatibility
The strongest matching public metadata identifies bsmobilesdk.dll as a 32-bit Win32 file associated with BlueSoleil. Public indexes disagree about the architecture, so do not choose a replacement based on an index label alone.
Windows 64-bit can run a 32-bit Bluetooth application, but that application needs its compatible 32-bit dependency in the application’s expected folder. Windows bitness does not determine which DLL is correct.

- Identify the application executable that reports the error.
- Reinstall that application or its OEM Bluetooth package.
- Use the installer intended for that hardware and application.
- Avoid mixing files from different BlueSoleil releases.
Do not copy an x64 file over a 32-bit dependency, or the reverse. A wrong-architecture file can produce a different startup error instead of fixing the original one.
Installing the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable is not the primary repair for this DLL. It may help only when the application separately reports a missing VCRUNTIME or MSVCP dependency and its documentation requires a matching runtime. Microsoft provides the supported packages, including vc_redist.x86.exe and vc_redist.x64.exe, on its Visual C++ Redistributable downloads page.
Fix 6: Install Windows updates
Updates can resolve driver and compatibility problems around older Bluetooth software.
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Restart the computer.
- Test the application again.
Windows Update will not normally recreate a third-party BlueSoleil DLL, but it can improve the surrounding Bluetooth and Windows components.

Use these commands when multiple Windows features are failing, system files are damaged, or the problem began after a failed update. They are secondary steps because bsmobilesdk.dll is not shown to be a protected Windows system component.

- Open Start.
- Search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the operation to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows and test the affected application.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. A successful scan means Windows repaired or verified protected system components. It does not guarantee that the third-party Bluetooth DLL has been restored.
Repeating SFC and DISM without knowing which component changed rarely helps with a missing application file. Win+R. - Type:
rstrui.exe
- Press Enter.
- Select Next.
- Choose a restore point created before the Bluetooth software changed.
- Select Scan for affected programs if available.
- Confirm the restore point and start the restore.
- Restart Windows and test the original application.
System Restore does not replace a clean installation of an obsolete Bluetooth package. If the error returns, uninstall the old software and install the correct current driver or application package.
Do not use these DLL fixes
Do not download a loose DLL
Random DLL download sites can provide malware, the wrong version, or the wrong architecture. Even a genuine-looking file may not match the parent application or its dependent files, so copying it often leaves the underlying broken installation untouched.
Use the original BlueSoleil or OEM installer instead. If the software is no longer needed, remove it and use Windows Bluetooth support or the adapter manufacturer’s current driver.
Do not copy it to system folders
Do not place bsmobilesdk.dll in:
C:WindowsSystem32C:WindowsSysWOW64- An unrelated application folder
This can create DLL search-order problems, architecture mismatches, and security risks. Manual copying is appropriate only in a controlled deployment where the original signed package is available and the application vendor explicitly requires a private application-folder dependency.

regsvr32 is for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. It does not restore a missing dependency or make an arbitrary runtime DLL usable.
There is no reliable evidence that bsmobilesdk.dll is a self-registering ActiveX or COM server. Running commands such as these is therefore not a justified first repair:

When the error still appears
If reinstalling the identified package does not work:
- Record the exact executable path shown by the error or shortcut.
- Search that folder for
bsmobilesdk.dll. - Check whether Defender quarantined the file.
- Confirm that the application and DLL came from the same installation package.
- Look for a second missing dependency in the error or application log.
- Test the program from another Windows user profile.
- Check permissions on the application folder and per-user application data.
- If a game launcher shows the message, use its built-in verify or repair-files function before changing Windows components.
- If the Bluetooth hardware works without BlueSoleil, uninstall the obsolete stack rather than restoring an old DLL.
