Forza Horizon 6 is the strongest all-round recommendation for Windows 11. Set in Japan, it combines a large open world with more than 550 real-world cars, solo and co-op play, Car Meets, Touge Battles, Drag Meets, and creation tools including EventLab and CoLab. Tokyo is the series’ largest city area.

The Steam listing requires Windows 10 version 19045 or higher, which meets the stated threshold on Windows 11. A Microsoft account and persistent internet connection are required. 2. EA SPORTS F1 25: 2026 Season Edition — best Formula 1 game
The current Formula 1 product is F1 25 with the 2026 Season Pack, not a separate standalone F1 26 game. The 2026 update adds the new teams, drivers, regulations, next-generation cars, active aerodynamics, Overtake Mode, and Madrid’s MADRING circuit.
New buyers should choose the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition. Existing F1 25 owners can buy the 2026 Season Pack separately. Existing 2025 Driver Career and My Team saves do not transfer into the 2026 content, so starting a new save is required.
The PC version supports VR, ultrawide and triple-monitor setups, wheels, pedals, custom hardware, eye tracking, and customizable controls. Steam lists an AVX2-capable four-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, DirectX 12, 100 GB storage, and a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 570 8GB as minimum requirements. Ray tracing and VR need considerably stronger hardware.

Useful launch fixes
- In the EA app, open Library, select the three dots beside F1 25, and choose Repair.
- On Steam, right-click the game, choose Properties → Local Files → Verify integrity of game files.
- Anti-cheat conflicts may involve Windhawk, Interception software, DAEMON Tools, ReWASD, or Astroburn.
- For a black screen or startup failure, delete both XML files in
C:UsersUSERIDDocumentsMy GamesF1 25hardwaresettings. This resets hardware settings without deleting saves.
3. Forza Motorsport — best accessible circuit racer
Forza Motorsport is the structured alternative to Horizon. It focuses on road courses, race regulations, vehicle setup, ranked multiplayer, and a broad licensed-car roster. Choose it when you want repeated laps and organized races rather than open-world exploration.
Steam lists a minimum Intel i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1060, RX 5500 XT, or Intel Arc A380, DirectX-compatible broadband internet, and 130 GB of SSD storage. Recommended hardware rises to an i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 2080 Ti, RX 6800 XT, or Intel Arc A770.
It is available through Steam, the Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass. The current listing specifies Windows 10 version 19041 or higher rather than explicitly naming Windows 11; Windows 11 meets that version threshold. An SSD and 130 GB of free space are important because older launch-era storage figures are no longer current.

BeamNG.drive is the pick for realistic vehicle deformation and experimentation. Its soft-body physics simulate vehicle components and damage rather than treating crashes as simple animations. Custom vehicles, open environments, mods, traffic scenarios, and a level editor make it especially flexible.

Sixteen gigabytes is only the minimum. Large traffic scenes, multiple vehicles, demanding maps, and mods make 32 GB a more sensible target. Mods also require additional storage. VR requires a 10 GB VRAM GPU with Vulkan and OpenXR support.
BeamNG.drive remains marked as Early Access on Steam and is primarily a sandbox vehicle simulator, not a conventional career-focused racing game.
5. Assetto Corsa Competizione — best dedicated GT simulator
Assetto Corsa Competizione is the focused choice for GT racing. It is the official GT World Challenge game, with GT3 and related classes, laser-scanned circuits, detailed tire and aerodynamic modeling, weather, night racing, endurance events, career, championships, VR, and online competition.
Minimum requirements are a 64-bit Windows 10 installation, an i5-4460 or FX-8120, 4 GB RAM, a GTX 750 4GB or RX 460 4GB, DirectX 11, and 50 GB of storage. Recommended hardware is an i5-8600K or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1070 8GB or RX 580 8GB.
The current Steam listing names Windows 10 versions rather than explicitly listing Windows 11. It supports VR through SteamVR or Oculus PC. The base game does not include every current track and class expansion; Steam lists an Ultimate Edition containing the base game and nine DLC packs, including GT2, GT4, 24H Nürburgring, American Track, and 2023 GT World Challenge content.

6. iRacing — best serious online competition
iRacing is the best option for organized online racing, official licenses, safety-focused multiplayer, structured series, AI events, and a large catalog of cars and tracks. It is a subscription service rather than a conventional one-time purchase.

Windows 11 64-bit is explicitly supported. Minimum requirements include a four-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, a dedicated GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM such as a GTX 1070 or RX 5600 XT, DirectX 11, broadband internet, and 25 GB of storage. The recommended specification is an eight-core-or-better CPU, 32 GB RAM, an 8 GB dedicated GPU, and 100 GB of storage. VR is supported.
Steam currently lists introductory prices of $9.99 monthly, $54.99 for six months, and $84.99 for twelve months. These renew at $13.99, $74.99, and $119.99. Additional content can also be part of the service’s purchase model, so calling it a “$10 racing game” is misleading.
If you already purchased an iRacing account directly from iRacing.com, Steam cannot renew that account. A Steam purchase creates a separate subscription.
7. Wreckfest 2 — best destruction racing
Wreckfest 2 is built around full-contact racing, vehicle deformation, component damage, derby events, obstacle courses, oncoming traffic, and multiplayer destruction. It is the most suitable choice here if winning means surviving the pile-up.

It entered Early Access on March 20, 2025 and remains in Early Access. The June 30, 2026 update added player progression, a minimap, two cars, waypoint races, suicide races, quick tuning, shared paint jobs, performance improvements, and HUD changes.
Minimum requirements are Windows 10 or 11, a Core i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3500, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580, DirectX 12, and 15 GB of storage. The target is 1080p at 30 FPS on Low. Recommended hardware is a Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM, an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT, and a target of 1080p at 60 FPS on High.
A revamped career mode, skill-based matchmaking and server queues, and mod support are planned Early Access features. It should not be treated as a finished replacement for the original Wreckfest yet.
How to check whether your Windows 11 PC can run them
- Right-click Start and select Settings.
- Open System → About.
- Under Windows specifications, check the edition and version.
- Under Device specifications, check the processor, installed RAM, and system type.
- For free space, open System → Storage. With multiple drives, use Advanced storage settings → Storage used on other drives.
Prioritize an SSD for Forza Horizon 6, Forza Motorsport, and any large mod collection. For BeamNG.drive and iRacing, 32 GB RAM is preferable if you plan to use demanding scenarios, VR, traffic, or high-detail content.
