Where Winds Meet separates cosmetic customization from combat equipment. Open Main Menu → Appearance to equip outfits, hairstyles, accessories, weapon skins, mounts, and other visual items. Once appearance editing is unlocked through the early story, you can also open the full character editor from Appearance → Appearance → Space on PC.
How to equip cosmetics
- Open the character or main menu.
- Select Appearance.
- Choose the cosmetic category or outfit you want to change.
- Select an unlocked item to equip it, or select a locked item to view its acquisition requirement.
The wardrobe applies visual changes over your normal equipment. Equipping a cosmetic does not replace the underlying combat gear or change its stats. The wardrobe is therefore the place to change how your character looks without changing how the character fights. More details on the wardrobe and outfit system.
What cosmetic categories are available?
The wardrobe includes separate appearance categories for much more than full-body outfits. Documented categories include:
- Sets
- Hairstyles
- Outfits
- Hats
- Capes
- Face accessories
- Hair accessories
- Earrings
- Other accessories
- Weapon skins
- Mounts
- Skill effects
- Backgrounds
- Idle stances
- Results screens
- Player nameplates
- Titles
Community wardrobe documentation also lists individual visual slots such as coats, pants, masks, hairpins or fazan, earrings, and accessory slots. Because the exact slot layout can vary by interface version and the detailed slot documentation is community-maintained, use the categories shown in your current in-game wardrobe as the definitive reference. Game8’s cosmetic-category overview and the community wardrobe reference provide additional catalog information.

How Body Outfits work
A Body Outfit is not the same as freely mixing every visible armor component. When equipped, it replaces the appearance of the complete armor set. It does not provide individually selectable visual armor pieces while that Body Outfit is active.
You can still use the wardrobe’s other cosmetic categories where supported, but do not expect a Body Outfit to behave like a collection of independently removable armor pieces. This is one of the most important distinctions when planning a character’s look.

- 🌀 Officially Licensed Where Winds Meet Collectible – the Teleporter, in Miniature This isn't fan art on a keycap. It's an official Where Winds Meet keycap — an authorized 3D replica of the game's iconic teleporter, cast in metal with every magical rune and architectural detail intact. For collectors who care about authenticity. For fans who know the difference between licensed and knockoff. The box says it. The keycap proves it. Your keyboard just got a piece of the mystical world itself.
- ⚙️ Premium Metal Construction – 3D Sculpted, Not Flat Printed Cast from high-quality metal with a sculpted 3D profile that rises above the keycap surface — not a flat decal, not a printed image, not a thin layer of epoxy over a sticker. Each teleporter detail is rendered in raised relief you can feel under your fingertip. The weight is real. The cold-metal touch is real. This artisan keycap brings a tactile, architectural presence to your keystrokes that no printed cap can match.
- ⌨️ Cherry MX Compatible – Drops Right into Your Setup Standard Cherry MX stem design fits the vast majority of mechanical keyboards — Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, and most MX-style clones. Ideal for the Escape key, function row, or any 1u slot that needs a personality upgrade. This mechanical keyboard keycap installs in seconds. No adapters. No wobble. No "it almost fits." Just a precision stem that seats securely the first time.
- 🎁 Themed Collector Box – a Where Winds Meet Gift That Lands Before They Even Open It Presented in officially licensed collector packaging featuring game art and branding — the unboxing experience starts the moment they see the box. Birthday for the open-world RPG fan. Holiday for the keyboard builder who already has every switch tester. Surprise for the Where Winds Meet enthusiast who thought they owned every piece of official merch. This collector keycap proves them wrong in the best way.
- 🛠️ Keycap Puller Included – Full Install Kit, No Separate Purchase Every order includes one teleporter-themed metal artisan keycap and a free keycap puller in the box. No hunting for tools. No scratched keycaps from makeshift removal. No waiting for a separate accessory order to arrive. This keycap set arrives complete — pull the old cap, seat the teleporter, and let the mystical world glow from your ESC key. Installation takes 30 seconds. The conversation it starts lasts way longer.

What you can change for free
The editor separates smaller cosmetic adjustments under Makeup from structural facial changes under Customization. The cited guide identifies the following adjustments as free:

Structural changes to the size, shape, or style of facial features require a Water Lady Script to confirm. The guide identifies the Jianghu Treasures Shop as the source of that item.
The documented Disguise process does not change your character’s gender. Do not assume that the normal appearance editor provides a gender-change option.

How to find an item’s current unlock requirement
Select the cosmetic in the wardrobe, including locked items, and read the requirement shown beneath it. Unlock methods can include:
- Main-story or campaign progress
- Shops and sect shops
- Limited-time events
- Exploration-level rewards
- Draw banners
- Social currencies
- Profession rewards
- Achievements
- Other special activities
This in-game unlock line is more reliable than a static third-party checklist. Shops, event rewards, draw pools, and availability can change between versions, so use external lists as references rather than proof that an item is currently obtainable. Check the wardrobe-based unlock guidance.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesPaid outfits, battle passes, and rotating content
Paid outfits commonly use Echo Beads, while some cosmetics are associated with draw systems such as Solemn Echo or other draw banners. The wardrobe entry identifies the relevant acquisition method for the item you are viewing.
Version-specific examples include:
- Tiger’s Bane: listed as a Rewind II Battle Pass item in Version 1.4.
- Desert Cavalry: listed as a 2,580 Echo Beads shop purchase in Version 1.4.
- Heaven-Sent Verse: listed as a 600 Echo Beads shop purchase in Version 1.4.
Version 1.3, titled Spring’s Bliss, was identified as adding cosmetics through events, the updated shop, and draw pools. A June 2026 report on Version 1.8 identified Spring Splendor and Verdant Vow as named outfits, with Verdant Vow described as a Battle Pass outfit. That report did not verify the exact price, tier, shop tab, or availability period for those items, so those details should not be treated as confirmed. Version 1.4 outfit details, Version 1.3 cosmetic information, and the limited Version 1.8 report.
Quick Recap
A practical way to manage your appearance
- Unlock the wardrobe first: use Appearance from the main menu.
- Inspect locked items: select them to see whether the requirement is a quest, shop, event, profession, exploration level, draw, or achievement.
- Separate stats from style: keep your combat equipment decisions independent from your cosmetic choices.
- Use Body Outfits with the correct expectation: they override the complete armor appearance rather than exposing every armor piece for independent mixing.
- Verify rotating content in-game: check the current wardrobe requirement before spending currency or pursuing an older guide’s recommendation.
- Unlock Disguise for facial edits: complete the early Cheng Xin story step, then use either Cheng Xin at Still Shore or the menu editor.
What not to assume
- Not every outfit can be mixed piece by piece; Body Outfits replace the full armor appearance.
- Cheng Xin is not the only access point after Disguise is unlocked; the main-menu editor is also documented.
- A third-party list cannot guarantee that a shop, event, or draw item is still available.
- Exact Version 1.8 prices, tiers, and acquisition routes are not all verified.
- Unconfirmed community claims about automatic Outfit Plan switching, dye controls, or detailed coat-and-outfit precedence should not be treated as established interface behavior.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
