Depending on your account and login surface, EA may also allow an EA ID or phone-number sign-in. These methods do not bypass EA’s security checks, and they work only when the account or verification method is already associated with your EA Account.
Use the route below that matches your situation. EA’s labels and recovery options can change, so the official EA account-recovery instructions are the final reference.
First, identify the email problem

Try signing in without entering the EA email
Use a linked platform account
Open the official EA login page and choose the button for the platform or service already linked to the EA Account:
- PlayStation Network
- Xbox Live
- Steam
- Apple
After authenticating with that service, EA may sign you into the connected account and expose its account information. This works only if you are using the correct platform account and it is linked to the EA Account you want. A different or unlinked platform account will not retrieve the old account automatically.

EA’s linking guidance also says that only one EA Account can be connected to a platform account at a time. Do not unlink an account simply to test another login: unlinking can affect access to platform-linked content and is not a universal recovery fix.
Try your phone number
EA’s current recovery and email-identification instructions say the EA app or EA.com may allow you to sign in with a phone number when it is attached to the account. Availability can depend on the account, region, and sign-in surface, so this is an option rather than a guaranteed replacement for email.
If EA sends a verification code to an inaccessible email address, old phone number, or unavailable authenticator method, phone-number login alone may not complete recovery. Use another recognized method or contact EA Help.
Use your EA ID carefully
EA’s password-reset flow accepts an email address or EA ID as the account identifier. However, the reset link is still sent to the email address associated with the EA Account. Your EA ID can help identify the account, but it does not necessarily replace email access or another identity check.

Also, your console gamertag or Online ID is not automatically the same thing as your EA ID.
Find the EA email address from the EA app or EA.com
From the EA app
If the EA app is already signed in:
- Open the EA app settings.
- Select My Account.
- Choose Manage under My Profile.
- In the browser-based account settings, look under About Me for the partial email address.
The preview may reveal only part of the address, but it can identify the provider or remind you which inbox to recover.

EA’s current instructions recommend using an incognito browser window to avoid cached-session problems:
- Open an incognito or private browser window.
- Go to the EA login page.
- Sign in with your phone number or a linked-platform button.
- Complete any verification EA requests.
- Open Manage My Account.
- Select Change Email Address.
- Look under Email Address to see the partial address.
Make sure the account shown is the one containing your games, progress, purchases, and other entitlements before changing anything.

Some games expose account or profile information in their menus, but the labels and available details vary by title, platform, and version. Check account, profile, or online-service settings in a game that is already working, but do not assume every game displays the full EA email address.
Recover the old email account
If you know the EA email address but cannot access its inbox, the email provider—not EA—is usually the first recovery point. Use the provider’s official account-recovery page for options such as:
- password reset;
- security-question recovery;
- identity verification;
- recovery through an alternate email address or phone number.
Use the official recovery page for the relevant provider, such as Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft, or Apple. Avoid third-party services claiming they can recover an EA email or account for payment.
Change the EA email after regaining access
Once you are inside the correct EA Account, open the Account information page and select Edit next to Email Address. Enter a secure email address that you will continue to control, then complete any identity verification EA requests.

EA generally limits changes to an email address or EA ID to once every 30 days. EA says an email address previously used on the account can be restored without the same restriction. Confirm that you are in the original account before making the change; changing the email on a newly created or incorrect account will not restore your old progress.

What to do if login verification blocks you
Try each verification method that genuinely belongs to you:
- Use a saved two-factor-authentication backup code.
- Check the old email inbox, phone, or authenticator app associated with the account.
- Try a device and network you regularly use with EA.
- If EA offers recognized-device verification, follow its prompt. EA says a recognized device might allow you to launch a game with online features and complete verification there.
A recognized device is not guaranteed to unlock the account. Avoid repeatedly requesting codes if delivery is failing or EA begins limiting attempts. If no verification method remains, move to EA Help rather than attempting to bypass the check.
If an expired credential is causing the problem, EA directs users to reset the password. Its guidance says to wait 90 minutes and try again if the reset does not work immediately.
Contact EA Help when normal recovery fails
If you cannot sign in through a linked platform, phone number, EA ID, recognized device, or email-provider recovery, use the official EA Help contact checklist. EA may attempt to recover the account after verifying ownership, but this is not an instant password bypass and no universal resolution time is guaranteed.

Gather as much of the following as possible:
- your EA ID or known account email;
- the game and gaming platform;
- the platform account ID, such as a gamertag or Online ID;
- proof of purchase, if available;
- when the problem began;
- what happened and which recovery steps you tried;
- exact error messages;
- relevant screenshots or video clips.
This information can help an advisor investigate more efficiently, but no single item guarantees recovery.
If you think someone hacked your EA Account
Use the hacked-account route if the email or password changed unexpectedly, unfamiliar purchases or linked accounts appear, or you receive EA reset or verification messages that you did not request.
- Secure the email account first if you still can, including changing its password and reviewing its recovery settings.
- Use EA’s hacked-account guidance.
- Change compromised passwords and enable stronger account security after access is restored.
- Tell EA about unfamiliar purchases, messages, or account changes.
EA warns that missing content may not always be recoverable, so do not assume every item or entitlement will automatically return.

- Do not create a second EA Account prematurely. It can separate you from the account containing your progress, purchases, subscriptions, or friends.
- Do not unlink a platform account as an experiment. Linking rules and platform-associated content can make recovery harder.
- Do not pay unofficial recovery services. They cannot legitimately bypass EA’s ownership checks.
- Do not share passwords, passkeys, or verification codes. EA warns that it will not request these through email, social media, forum messages, or console messaging.
- Do not trust private messages claiming to be EA staff. Start from the official EA Help domain.
- Do not click unexpected password-reset links. Open the official EA site directly instead.
- Do not confuse an inaccessible account with a ban or suspension. Enforcement appeals and account recovery are separate EA Help issues.

Can you create a new account instead?
Only consider a new EA Account as a last resort. It may be suitable for a console-only player whose platform has never been connected to EA, but it will generally be a separate account. Do not expect it to bring over the old account’s progress, purchases, entitlements, friends, or subscriptions.
Before creating one, confirm that the platform is not already linked to the original EA Account and try the recovery routes above.

Can I log in to EA with my username instead of my email?
You can try your EA ID, and EA may accept it to start password recovery. The reset link can still be sent to the account’s email address, so an EA ID does not always remove the need for email access.
Can I use my PlayStation or Xbox account to access EA?
Yes, if that platform account is already linked to the EA Account you want. An unlinked account will not automatically retrieve your old EA profile.
Can EA tell me my full email address?
