Wario64’s reply, as reproduced by Tech Times, was short: “and you don’t have to follow me.” The exchange was a brief social-media retort, not a Sony announcement or proof of a PS5 restock.
What happened between Wario64 and @antfye?
Tech Times reported the exchange on February 8, 2021, while the Super Bowl was taking place. The article reproduced this reply thread:
@antfye: “Relax man you don’t have to post anything just watch the Super Bowl”
Wario64: “and you don’t have to follow me”
The response was blunt, but the available report does not establish a longer feud or a broader dispute. It also does not document a particular Super Bowl moment or show that the exchange involved Sony.

Why were PS5 buyers following Wario64?
Tech Times described Wario64 as an independent account posting PS5 and Xbox Series X availability updates, gaming deals, discounts and merchandise alerts. It was not an official Sony account and did not control retailer inventory. In the shortage-hit market of early 2021, a timely alert could give buyers a chance to try a listing before stock ran out, but it could not guarantee a purchase.
The same outlet later characterized Wario64 as a prominent restock and deal account. That background appears in its May 2021 coverage of Xbox Series X restock trackers.

Was the exchange about a PS5 restock?
Only as context. The Super Bowl exchange concerned Wario64 continuing to post, and Tech Times tied the account to console availability alerts. The article does not say Wario64 was reporting a new PS5 drop during the exchange. Its headline’s PS5 connection explains why the account mattered to some followers; it is not evidence of inventory becoming available.
What other alerts did Tech Times mention?
The contemporaneous article referred to several recent posts as examples of Wario64’s activity. These are details reported by Tech Times, not independently confirmed inventory records:

- Amazon “Buy 2 Get 1 free” deal information around the time of the Super Bowl exchange.
Why did the reply draw attention?
The moment’s appeal was the mismatch between a follower’s expectation that a high-volume deal account take a break and the account owner’s reminder that following was optional. Tech Times also described another commenter defending or contextualizing Wario64, suggesting the critic might not know the account’s usual posting habits. That was one reaction in the thread, not evidence of a broader consensus.
The report was published at 12:56 a.m. EST on February 8, 2021, and reproduced the tweets. The available evidence does not independently establish the original X posts or show that the exchange led to a measurable change in followers, a platform consequence or a retailer response.
