Fortnite is available on Amazon Luna, but it did not just launch: Amazon and Epic Games added it on May 3, 2023. In 2026, the useful question is how to play under Luna’s redesigned service model—and whether cloud streaming suits your device and connection.
When did Fortnite launch on Amazon Luna?
Amazon and Epic announced Fortnite for Luna on May 3, 2023. It initially launched in the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Amazon’s launch announcement described access for Prime members and, at that time, for non-Prime users through Luna+ or its seven-day trial. That trial information is historical; Luna has since been redesigned.
The 2023 announcement named Battle Royale and Creative among the available Fortnite experiences and said players could link an Epic account to carry over Battle Pass progress. Fortnite changes over time, so those historical details should not be taken as a guarantee that every mode or feature is available through Luna today.
Is Fortnite still on Luna in 2026, and is it free?
Yes. Epic’s current Fortnite page for Amazon Luna still lists the service and says Prime members can stream Fortnite at no additional charge. Fortnite itself is free-to-play; Luna is the streaming route, and Prime access depends on having an eligible Amazon Prime membership. Do not assume the 2023 Luna+ trial or its terms still apply.

Amazon’s 2025 Luna redesign announcement introduced Luna Premium as the successor to Luna+. It gives the previous Luna+ price as $9.99 per month, not a verified August 2026 Luna Premium price. Check Amazon’s current offer before signing up. Amazon lists cloud-delivered Luna games in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg; account region and availability can affect access.
Which devices and controls does Fortnite on Luna support?
Epic lists Windows PCs, macOS, iPhone and iPad through Safari, Android phones, Chromebooks, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Fire tablets, Fire TVs, and select Samsung Smart TVs. Not every model, operating system, browser, or country is necessarily supported.

Epic says mobile players can use touch controls, and that keyboard and mouse are supported on Windows PC, Mac, and Chromebook. Compatible Bluetooth controllers, including the Luna Controller, are another option, but compatibility depends on the device. Touch controls can be handy for access but are unlikely to suit every player, especially in competitive matches.
How to start playing
- Open Epic’s Fortnite on Luna page or go to Amazon Luna.
- Sign in with the Amazon account you intend to use. For Prime access, use the account with the relevant membership.
- Select Fortnite and start the cloud session if it is available for your account and device.
- When prompted, sign in to or link the Epic Games account you use for Fortnite elsewhere. Using a different account can make your usual profile and account-linked items appear to be missing.
- Choose a supported input method: touch on supported mobile devices, keyboard and mouse on supported computers, or a compatible controller.
Account linking is handled by Epic; Luna supplies the streamed game session. Amazon’s 2023 announcement described linking an existing Epic account to carry over Battle Pass progress. Use the same Epic account to keep your Fortnite profile associated with the right identity, but do not assume every platform-specific purchase, setting, or entitlement behaves identically.

What internet connection and performance should you expect?
Amazon recommended a sustained connection of at least 10 Mbps in its 2023 launch announcement. Treat that as a historical minimum recommendation, not a guarantee of smooth play: Epic emphasizes high-speed internet, low latency, and a stable connection on its current Luna page.
Bandwidth is only part of the experience. Wi-Fi congestion, router distance, other network traffic, Bluetooth interference, and the route to Luna’s streaming region can affect responsiveness. Cloud streaming avoids a local Fortnite installation, but sends your inputs to a remote game session and returns video, adding network-dependent delay. That may be more noticeable in competitive play than in casual matches.

- Use Ethernet where practical, or play near the router on a less congested Wi-Fi band.
- Pause large downloads and other heavy network activity.
- On a TV, enable Game Mode to reduce display processing delay.
- If input feels sluggish, try another supported device or controller connection and compare with a local installation if available.
What changed in Luna during 2026?
Amazon’s service notice says that starting April 10, 2026, Luna stopped offering game stores, individual game purchases, third-party subscriptions, and Bring Your Own Library support. Previously purchased titles and supported third-party-library games remained playable only until June 10, 2026. The notice concerns those purchases and library arrangements; it does not say Fortnite was removed. Epic’s current page continues to list Fortnite on Luna.
This matters if you encounter older descriptions of Luna that tie access to an Epic Games Store integration, a third-party subscription, or a game purchase. Fortnite’s current listing is a Luna streaming offering, not evidence that the old store or library model remains. See Amazon’s Luna service-change notice.

Can you launch Luna games from Prime Video?
Amazon announced on July 23, 2026, that Prime members using Fire TV devices in the United States and United Kingdom could access Luna games through a Games tab in the Prime Video app. The announcement does not establish that Fortnite appears for every Prime Video account, Fire TV device, or region. Check the Prime Video and Luna announcement and the live app for availability.

When is Luna a good fit for Fortnite?
- Convenience: Luna can be useful if you already have Prime, a supported device, and a stable connection, and would rather stream than install Fortnite.
- Latency-sensitive play: A native PC, console, or mobile installation may be preferable if you compete seriously or need the lowest practical input delay.
- Offline use or advanced PC options: Luna streams the game; it does not install it locally. It is not the choice for offline play, local files, mods, or maximum control over PC graphics settings.
- Other cloud services: Epic also lists Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce NOW for Fortnite streaming. Requirements, regions, queues, and plan limits can change, so check each service’s current terms before choosing.
What to check if Fortnite does not appear or feels delayed
If the Fortnite listing or launch option is missing
- Start from Epic’s official Fortnite Luna page and confirm you are signed into the intended Amazon account.
- Check that Luna is available for your account region and that your device, browser, or TV model is supported.
- Try a current Chrome, Edge, or Safari browser on another supported device, then sign out and back in.
- Confirm that you have selected the right Epic account if the session launches but your profile looks unfamiliar.
- If the problem continues, consult Amazon Luna or Epic support; a missing listing alone does not establish that Fortnite has been delisted.
If controls feel unresponsive
- Reduce Wi-Fi congestion, move closer to the router, or use Ethernet if possible.
- Pause background downloads or video streams, and try a compatible controller or another supported input method.
- Enable Game Mode on a television and test on another device to distinguish display or network delay from a game issue.
