There is no clearly verified product officially called the “Mechanical Hunter Keypad.” Searches for the exact phrase and headline do not identify a manufacturer announcement, model number, or authoritative product page. The wording may combine unrelated products such as Redragon Stormhunter Magnetic, Razer Huntsman, or a generic Hall-effect gaming keypad. Treat the headline as an unverified description—not proof of a new launch.
Before buying, identify the brand, exact model, switch technology, layout, software, compatibility and seller. Those details determine whether the device is a useful one-handed controller or simply a compact keyboard described inaccurately in shopping copy.
What “Mechanical Hunter Keypad” might mean
The name is ambiguous in three separate ways:
- “Hunter” may be a mistaken name. A retailer sitemap lists a Redragon Stormhunter Magnetic keyboard, while another listing includes the Razer Huntsman Mini. Neither source connects those products to this headline. See Redragon listing evidence and Razer and other retailer listings.
- “Keypad” may be inaccurate. A true keypad is normally a one-handed gaming device. A 60%, 65% or 75% keyboard is still a compact keyboard, with a layout intended for broader typing.
- “Mechanical” does not identify the sensing method. A listing may use the word for conventional mechanical switches while the product actually uses optical, magnetic or hybrid sensing. Confirm the mechanism in the manufacturer’s documentation.
Until an official page supplies a model number and specifications, no responsible review can establish its price, release date, performance or availability in the United States.
Why magnetic and optical keyboards are attracting attention
The likely source of the “future” language is a newer class of gaming input devices. Their advantages are features, not a guarantee of better play.

Traditional mechanical switches
Conventional switches use a physical mechanism and electrical contact with a largely fixed actuation point. They are familiar, widely supported and often compatible with a broad range of keycaps or replacement switches, depending on the board. They do not automatically provide adjustable actuation or rapid-trigger behavior.
Optical switches
Optical switches detect a change in light rather than a conventional electrical contact. Manufacturers often market short actuation and durability. Compatibility can be narrower because the switch, socket and keycap design may be proprietary. The Razer Huntsman Mini is an example of a compact optical keyboard listing, not evidence of a “Hunter Keypad” launch.

- 7 Onboard Macro Keys for Instant Combos - Bind multiple commands to each of the 7 keys (28 total across 4 profiles), so MMO and MOBA ability rotations fire with a single press instead of fumbling for a full keyboard.
- Swap Switches Without Soldering - The upgraded socket accepts almost any 3-pin or 5-pin switch, so you can tune the feel of your off-hand keypad to match your main board.
- USB Pass-Through Port, Detachable Wrist Rest - Plug your mouse or headset directly into the keypad for a cleaner desk, and unclip the magnetic wrist rest whenever you want a smaller footprint.
- 16.8 Million Colors, 5 RGB Modes - Vibrant lighting effects let your off-hand setup match the rest of your battlestation.
- Pro Software for Even Deeper Customization - Record your own macro sequences and design custom lighting effects, so the keypad adapts to your exact keybinds.
Hall-effect or magnetic switches
Hall-effect switches sense changes in a magnetic field. A compatible board can let software set the actuation point and, in some designs, detect a key’s position continuously.
- Adjustable actuation: choose how far a key must travel before registering.
- Rapid Trigger: reset a key from its upward movement instead of waiting for a fixed reset point. This can make repeated strafes or taps feel more immediate.
- Analog input: some boards can report partial travel, potentially allowing controller-like movement. Support depends on the firmware and game.
Retail listings for Ajazz and Onikuma magnetic keyboards advertise adjustable actuation and rapid trigger, but those descriptions are not independent latency or reliability tests. A claimed sensor resolution such as “0.01 mm,” if present, is not the same thing as end-to-end input latency.

- The new Azeron Cyborg II Gaming Keypad offers advanced adjustability and ergonomics. Its adjustable parts ensure a perfect fit. Designed for right-handed gamers, it replaces the keyboard for left-hand use while the mouse stays on the right.
- The new Hall Effect thumbstick eliminates stick drift and supports WASD or 360° analog movement (in compatible games). Customize dead zones, sensitivity, and cone angles, map eight directional zones, and enable analog smoothing. Can function as a mouse. Features easy calibration and a mid-click function.
- Exclusive software provides advanced customization, including RGB lighting for game profiles, fine-tuned thumbstick settings – diagonal keybinds, and analog smoothing. The thumbstick can also function as a mouse.
- The redesigned main board allows future Cyborg II software updates and modular enhancements.
- 30 mappable inputs can be configured as keyboard inputs, controller/mouse inputs, or Macros. Each button is individually connected with no connection matrices
Polling rate and latency
A higher USB polling rate means the device reports more frequently. It does not by itself establish a visible advantage: switch sensing, firmware, USB processing, game input polling, frame timing, display latency and network conditions all contribute to delay. “Zero latency” is therefore not a credible technical conclusion.
Who benefits from a one-handed keypad?
Good candidates
- FPS players who want more mouse space.
- MMO or MOBA players who need many programmable inputs.
- Streamers and creators who want shortcuts or macros beside a normal keyboard.
- People with limited desk space or who prefer a dedicated gaming controller.
Potentially poor fits
- Anyone who needs a complete work keyboard.
- Users who frequently use function keys, arrows, navigation clusters or number-pad commands.
- People who dislike desktop utilities, browser drivers or account-based software.
- Console players unless that specific model documents console support.
- People who need a quiet shared-room setup; mechanical and clicky switches can be loud.
What to verify before ordering
- Identity: record the manufacturer, exact model number and official product URL. “Hunter” alone is not enough.
- Layout: count the keys and check for function, arrow, navigation, media and number-pad layers. Confirm whether it is genuinely one-handed.
- Switches: identify conventional mechanical, optical, Hall-effect or hybrid sensing, and whether replacements are supported.
- Actuation features: check the adjustment range, rapid-trigger controls and whether settings apply per key.
- Connections: distinguish wired, 2.4GHz and Bluetooth modes. The highest polling or lowest-latency mode may require a cable or 2.4GHz receiver; Bluetooth is generally for convenience.
- Software and memory: find out whether remapping, macros and profiles work without the utility running, and whether profiles are stored onboard.
- Compatibility: verify Windows, macOS and each intended console separately. Windows support does not establish console support, and game anti-cheat policies can differ.
- Physical details: check cable connector, wrist rest, keycap compatibility, RGB controls and ergonomics.
- Support: confirm warranty, return terms and service region before paying.
- Evidence: look for independent latency, debounce and reliability testing rather than only retailer specifications.
Benefits and trade-offs
| Potential benefit | What it can mean in practice | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| More desk space | A one-handed board leaves room for wider mouse movement. | You need another keyboard for ordinary typing. |
| Adjustable actuation | You can tune when a key registers for movement or typing. | Very shallow settings can cause accidental presses. |
| Rapid Trigger | Keys may reset during upward travel for quick repeated inputs. | Behavior varies by firmware and game; compatibility must be checked. |
| Macros and layers | Many actions can be assigned to fewer physical keys. | Software may be required, and some games restrict automation. |
| Compact size | Easy to place beside a full keyboard or in a small setup. | Missing keys and layers can slow non-gaming work. |
Which category makes sense?
| Category | Choose it when | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Conventional mechanical keypad | You want familiar behavior, broad compatibility and simpler software. | No adjustable actuation or rapid trigger; switch noise varies. |
| Hall-effect keypad | You play competitive FPS games and will tune actuation or rapid trigger. | Firmware quality, software dependence, game compatibility and support differ widely. |
| Optical keypad or compact keyboard | You prefer short actuation or already use an ecosystem such as Razer Chroma. | Switch and keycap compatibility may be narrower; it may not be a true one-handed keypad. |
| Compact full keyboard | You need one device for games and regular typing. | It may provide less mouse room and fewer dedicated gaming controls. |

Do not buy or recommend a product called the “Mechanical Hunter Keypad” until its manufacturer and exact model are confirmed. If the intended device is a Hall-effect or rapid-trigger keypad, judge it by its actual sensing method, layout, software, game and platform compatibility, warranty and independent testing—not by the “future of gaming” slogan. For conventional typing, a complete compact keyboard may be more practical; for a dedicated competitive setup, a well-documented Hall-effect keypad can be worth considering.
