As of September 30, 2026, the active typed code listed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is PREPAR1NG. It reportedly grants five Max Revives, 10 Full Restores, and 10 Ultra Balls, with a listed redemption deadline of March 31, 2027. Several other rewards are claimed without a code through Get via Internet, including Garchompite Z, Mewtwo’s Mega Stones, and Diancite. Availability can change, so check the Mystery Gift menu in your game before relying on any listing.

Is PREPAR1NG still working?
The code is listed as active through March 31, 2027, but Nintendo and Pokémon distributions can be changed or withdrawn. Enter it through the in-game menu; a successful claim triggers an automatic save.
How to redeem a Mystery Gift
Mystery Gift needs an internet connection. Nintendo’s support instructions estimate that the Link Play menu unlocks after you unlock Rewards in Mable’s Research, usually about 1 to 1.5 hours into the game.

#1 Best Overall
- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
- Press X to open the menu.
- Select Link Play, then Mystery Gift.
- For an online distribution, choose Get via Internet and select the available gift.
- For a serial code, choose Get with Code/Password, enter the code exactly, and confirm.
- Let the game save after the gift is received.
Check the correct destination afterward: clothing appears under Outfit & Looks, ordinary items go to the Satchel, and Pokémon are placed in your party or Boxes.
Which rewards do not need a code?
Garchompite Z
This is an internet-delivered gift rather than a public serial code. The reward is tied to the Mega Dimension DLC and at least one completed Hyperspace adventure. If the gift is not shown, check that the DLC is installed and that the required adventure is complete.
Mewtwo’s Mega Stones
Claim Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y through Get via Internet. The related “Project M” mission becomes actionable after the main story; go to Lysandre Café after receiving the stones.
Rank #2
- Venture into Hyperspace Lumiose in this additional story content that can be accessed after completing the main game
- Work with the mysterious baker, Ansha, to make donuts that awaken the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa’s power and grant you and your Pokémon a variety of useful effects
- Join Team MZ and the Mega Evolution Successor, Korrina, to investigate Hyperspace Lumiose, the otherworldly home to rare and hyper-strong Pokémon
- Discover new Mega Evolutions such as Mega Raichu X, Mega Raichu Y, Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur
- Claim Holo-X and Holo-Y in-game apparel items, which you can wear as soon as you are able to customize your character’s look and outfit in the main game
Diancite
Diancite is also an online gift. The “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” mission requires the main story to be finished and begins through Mimi at the Looker Bureau after the claim.
Pokémon HOME alpha starter gifts
The alpha Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile rewards use a separate HOME process, not the Mystery Gift screen in Z-A:
- Catch a Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
- Deposit that Pokémon into the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME.
- Open the linked mobile version of Pokémon HOME.
- Claim alpha Chikorita, alpha Tepig, and alpha Totodile from HOME’s Mystery Gifts.
The Pokémon Company says the contents and method for obtaining this gift may change without notice, so verify the offer in HOME as well as in Z-A.

Region, birthday and in-person distributions
Birthday and event gifts are not universal public codes. Eligibility may depend on country or region, event attendance, a specific date, or a one-time serial-number issue. Do not assume a code listed for another player will work on your account, and do not treat an event-only distribution as a permanent online reward.
