Steam lists Windows 10 or later, a 64-bit system, 8 GB of RAM minimum, DirectX 11, 20 GB of free space and an SSD. The recommended specification raises memory to 16 GB and calls for a Ryzen 7 5800X or Core i5-10600 with an RTX 2060 Super or Radeon RX 5700 XT. CarX’s August 2024 PC FAQ says controllers and steering wheels are supported.
CarX Street Windows system requirements
The following specifications are the Windows requirements shown on the Steam store listing. They are compatibility targets, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or graphics preset.

Steam’s 20 GB figure is the listed requirement, so leave additional free space for Windows, Steam updates and future game patches. The listing should be checked again before installation because storefront requirements can change.
Is an SSD required?
Yes. Steam marks an SSD as required for both minimum and recommended configurations. In an August 29, 2024 announcement, the CarX Street team stated: “Installing the game on an SSD will significantly improve its performance.” That is the developer’s guidance, not an independent benchmark.

If the game is on a hard disk, moving it to an internal SSD is the most direct storage change to make. Whether a particular drive can be installed depends on your motherboard, available drive bay and interface, so check those before buying hardware.
Can your PC run CarX Street?
Compare your processor and graphics card
For a basic compatibility check, compare your CPU and GPU with the minimum row in the table. A system near the minimum may need conservative graphics settings, while hardware around the recommended row gives you more headroom. The published requirements do not specify an expected FPS target.

Check memory, operating system and storage
- Use a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 or newer.
- Have at least 8 GB of RAM; 16 GB is the listed recommendation.
- Reserve 20 GB of free storage on an SSD.
- Use broadband internet and a DirectX-compatible sound device.
After checking these items, install the latest game update and adjust settings in the current build. Driver versions, patches and background applications can affect results even when a PC matches the published specification.
Graphics settings and DirectX 12
Official update 1.13.5, dated June 25, 2026, added experimental DirectX 12 support. DirectX 11 remains the API named in Steam’s system requirements, so DirectX 12 should be treated as an optional test rather than a guaranteed replacement.

The same update added separate controls for draw distance, texture quality and reflection quality. CarX says richer visual settings can reduce performance and recommends lowering options such as draw distance when you need more FPS. Change one setting at a time so you can identify which visual compromise matters most on your system.
Does CarX Street support a controller or steering wheel?
CarX’s August 2024 PC FAQ says the Windows version supports controllers and steering wheels. A compatible PC controller or wheel-and-pedal set can therefore be used instead of keyboard controls.

Support is not a guarantee that every model, pedal layout or remapping utility will work perfectly. Verify compatibility for your specific hardware and the game’s current version, then check the in-game bindings and Windows device detection if inputs are missing.
Choosing a control method
- Keyboard: works without buying additional hardware but offers less analogue control for steering and throttle.
- Controller: provides analogue sticks and triggers in a compact setup; confirm that Windows and the game detect the device.
- Steering wheel: offers a dedicated wheel and pedals, but compatibility and configuration vary by model.
What “cross-platform multiplayer” means here
The Steam listing describes single-player, online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer features. That label should not be read as proof of PC-to-mobile play. In its August 2024 PC FAQ, CarX said there were no plans for PC/mobile cross-play and no plans for cross-progression at that time. Those statements are dated and may change; consult the current Steam page and current announcements for the latest platform policy.

PC monetization statement from CarX’s FAQ
CarX said in the August 2024 PC FAQ that the PC version had no microtransactions and that PC balance and rewards had been reworked. This is a time-specific developer statement, not a permanent guarantee. Check the current Steam listing and purchase terms before buying.
