To get the Arcane Pickaxe in The Forge, complete the Bard’s Lost Guitar quest in Stonewake’s Cross to earn the Unknown Key, use it to unlock Fallen Angel’s Cave, then buy the pickaxe there for $125,000 in-game currency.
1. Accept the Bard’s Lost Guitar quest
Find the Bard near the campfire in Stonewake’s Cross and accept his quest to recover his guitar. PC Gamer’s guide, published December 19, 2025, describes the guitar’s location inside The Cave.
2. Find the guitar inside The Cave
- Enter The Cave at Stonewake’s Cross and take the left route toward the dirt patch and moss-covered area.
- Pass through the moss to drop into a hidden room.
- Pick up the guitar at the back of the room, near a skeleton.
- Leave the hidden room and return the guitar to the Bard. He gives you the Unknown Key.
3. Unlock Fallen Angel’s Cave
- Go back into The Cave and take the right path at the first two intersections to reach the locked gate.
- Use the Unknown Key on the gate to unlock Fallen Angel’s Cave.
The route through the intersections and the key’s use are described in The Forge Wiki’s Arcane Pickaxe reference, an unofficial, fan-maintained resource.
4. Buy the Arcane Pickaxe
Continue through Fallen Angel’s Cave to the Arcane Pickaxe and purchase it for $125,000 in-game currency, according to the same fan-maintained item reference. The source does not establish that this price is guaranteed to remain unchanged in the live game.
