Microsoft has changed where Xbox Rewards appears, and access can also depend on your platform, age, region, account profile and temporary service conditions. Check the Rewards website first; it is the most reliable place to confirm your balance.
Why the Microsoft Rewards panel may be missing
The old standalone app is no longer the normal route
Microsoft Community guidance indicates that the former standalone Microsoft Rewards app on Xbox has been retired or replaced. Rewards is now presented through Xbox surfaces and the web dashboard rather than as an app every player must install. That guidance is community support, so menu names and placement can still change. The interface may have moved
On a console, the usual route is Xbox button → Profile & system → Profile → My Rewards. This is a commonly cited path, not a permanent guarantee: Xbox software version, account, region and server-side rollouts can change the label or location. A Microsoft Q&A response documents the route and related checks at Microsoft Q&A.
There is no single menu path that Microsoft guarantees for every version of the Xbox app for Windows PC or the Xbox mobile app. Look for a profile, Rewards or account section, then use the website if the entry is absent.

Age and family settings can remove gameplay features
In an announcement dated January 6, 2025, Xbox said the Rewards Hub used for tracking and earning gameplay points would no longer be available to players under 18 on Xbox consoles, the Xbox app for Windows PC or the Xbox mobile app. Microsoft also said minors could still earn some points through eligible purchases, Bing searches and other non-gameplay activities, subject to applicable consent and account rules. Check the birth date stored on the Microsoft account, whether it is a child or family-managed account, and whether parental settings apply. Being 18 in real life will not correct an inaccurate birth date in the account.

Rewards with Xbox is not available everywhere
Microsoft publishes a supported-country list for Rewards with Xbox; the United States is included, but availability is not universal and can change. Verify your Microsoft account country, Xbox and Store regions, physical location and any recent country move on Microsoft’s Rewards with Xbox page.
Do not switch regions merely to reveal the panel and do not use a VPN. Microsoft warns that VPN use, multi-region activity or earning outside the current market can cause Rewards problems or cancelled redemptions.

Account or service conditions can affect one device
The Xbox app, console, Store and browser can be signed into different Microsoft accounts. A temporary interface rollout or service error can also hide an entry. Community reports show these failure modes, but they do not establish a universal outage. If the website works while the app does not, the problem is probably limited to that Xbox surface.
First, check whether your points are still there
- Open the Microsoft Rewards dashboard in a browser.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account used on Xbox.
- Check your balance, recent activity and available redemptions.
- Compare the signed-in account on your console profile, Xbox PC or mobile app and Microsoft Store.
Rewards points are associated with the Microsoft account. A missing panel does not show that points were removed. The problem becomes an account issue when the dashboard itself shows an incorrect balance, eligible activity fails to credit, redemptions fail or the account is restricted.

Troubleshoot the affected Xbox app or console
- Confirm the account. Sign out only after noting which Microsoft account owns the balance, then sign back in with that account.
- Update the app. Install the latest Xbox app version from the relevant Windows, iOS or Android store.
- Restart. Fully close and reopen the app; restart the phone, PC or console.
- Sign out and back in. This can refresh account data, although it will not fix a server-side change.
- Try another official access point. Check the Rewards website, the console profile menu or another supported Xbox device.
- On Windows, repair or reset the Xbox app only if necessary. Confirm the account first because resetting can remove local app state.
- Contact Rewards support if the dashboard or redemption system is also affected.
A factory reset is disproportionate for a missing Rewards panel alone and should not be an early troubleshooting step.

When to contact Microsoft Rewards support
Escalate when the issue persists across the website and Xbox surfaces, points do not appear after the normal processing period, redemptions fail, or the account is locked or flagged. Include your country or region, device and Xbox app platform, approximate date the panel disappeared, whether the dashboard works, whether points still credit, the exact error message and relevant age or family-account details. What not to do
- Do not assume Microsoft Rewards has been shut down for everyone.
- Do not reinstall a retired standalone Rewards app as your primary fix.
- Do not use a VPN or repeatedly change regions.
- Do not give Microsoft account credentials to third-party “Rewards fixer” services.
- Do not factory-reset the console for this symptom alone.
