In The Sims 4, enable both custom content and script mods, restart the game, and verify the files in the in-game mod list. The creator’s July 7, 2025 post identifies version 1.2 (with a 1.1 download also listed); check her patch-status page immediately before installing or restoring it after a major game update.
Before you download
- Slice of Life requires the PC or Mac version of The Sims 4 and the base game. EA does not support mods on PlayStation or Xbox.
- Download from KawaiiStacie’s creator page or the current-mod collection linked from that page. The creator’s July 7, 2025 post lists Slice of Life version 1.2 and also provides a 1.1 ZIP.
- Check KawaiiStacie’s current patch-status page immediately before installing. A download link that still works does not prove that the file supports your current Sims 4 patch.
Mods are third-party software: EA states that “Maxis and EA don’t pre-screen, endorse, or support specific Mods or Custom Content.” Keep a backup of your saves before adding or replacing a script mod.

How to install Slice of Life
1. Download the archive
Use the creator’s current download rather than a re-upload. If the creator lists several releases, choose the one marked compatible with your Sims 4 patch. Slice of Life is distributed as a ZIP archive.
2. Extract the ZIP
Open the downloaded archive with your operating system’s extraction tool and extract its contents. Do not put the unopened ZIP in the Mods folder; The Sims 4 cannot load the mod from inside an archive.

3. Open the Mods folder
Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. If Mods is missing, start the game once and close it, or create the folder according to EA’s mod-installation guidance. Use the local Documents folder that the game actually uses, not an unrelated backup directory.
4. Copy the mod files
Copy the extracted Slice of Life .package and .ts4script files into the Mods folder. A .ts4script file may be in the root of Mods or in one folder directly inside it, but not deeper than one subfolder. Keep the package and its associated script together, following the folder layout supplied with the current release.

5. Allow custom content and scripts
- Launch The Sims 4.
- Open Game Options > Other.
- Turn on Enable Custom Content and Mods.
- Turn on Script Mods Allowed.
- Apply the changes and restart the game.
The restart is required for the settings and script mod to take effect.
6. Confirm that it loaded
After restarting, open the game’s custom-content and mod listing. Look for Slice of Life and its script entry. If neither appears, close the game and work through the checks below before loading a save.

What Slice of Life adds
KawaiiStacie documents Slice of Life as a collection of optional, modular gameplay systems rather than one single feature. The documented systems include:
- Health: colds, flu, stomach problems, allergies, remedies and recovery.
- Beauty: outfit changes, hair styling, makeup and skincare interactions.
- Personality: a Myers-Briggs-based personality system.
- Alcohol effects: gameplay effects associated with drinking.
- Menstrual cycles: cycle-related gameplay.
- Memories and social discussion: additional memories and conversations about experiences.
- Self-woohoo: self-directed woohoo interactions.
The exact files and feature grouping can change between releases. Read the instructions included with the version you download instead of assuming that an older folder layout applies to version 1.2.

Removing unwanted features
The creator’s documentation says unwanted systems can be removed by deleting the relevant feature folder and its associated script. Do this only after identifying the matching folder and script in the current release; deleting a shared or incorrectly matched file can stop other Slice of Life functions from loading. Keep a backup copy of the original extracted download so you can restore a feature if necessary.

Slice of Life does not appear in the mod list
- Confirm that you extracted the ZIP and copied the extracted files, not the archive itself.
- Check that the files are under
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods, in the Documents location used by your installation. - Make sure the files are not trapped inside an extra nested folder created during extraction.
- In Game Options > Other, enable both mod settings, apply them, and restart.
The game reports a script warning or the mod fails to load
- Move each
.ts4scriptfile to the root ofModsor no more than one subfolder deep. - Remove duplicate or obsolete Slice of Life copies. Two versions in different folders can conflict.
- Check the creator’s patch-status page and replace the files with a release that supports your current game version.
Some features are missing
- Inspect the extracted release for separate modular folders and their associated scripts.
- Verify that the specific feature was not removed intentionally and that its files were not left in the ZIP or an incorrectly nested folder.
- Use the current creator instructions, because feature distribution can change between versions.
Problems started after a Sims 4 update
Major patches can switch the in-game mod permissions off. Re-enable both Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed, apply the change, and restart. Then consult KawaiiStacie’s compatibility status before testing the mod again. Do not treat an old, still-accessible download as proof of compatibility.

OneDrive or another sync service is involved
Synchronization services can interfere with the Mods folder by redirecting or locking files. When possible, use the local Documents path that The Sims 4 is configured to read, and avoid keeping the active Mods folder in a conflicted sync location.
Keeping the mod working
- Check the creator’s patch-status page after every major Sims 4 patch.
- Re-enable both mod settings after patching, even if they were previously enabled.
- Install one current Slice of Life release at a time and remove older copies first.
- Keep your saves backed up before changing script mods.
- When troubleshooting, test with the current files and the creator’s documented folder structure rather than mixing components from different releases.
Can you install it on console?
No. EA limits Sims 4 mods to PC and Mac. Slice of Life cannot be downloaded or installed on PlayStation or Xbox.
