Best Hisense TV for PS5: Top 5 Picks and Reviews (2026)

The Hisense U8QG is the best overall Hisense TV for PS5, while a verified current U7 offers the strongest value. Older U75N and U7N models make sense on clearance, and U6 sets are budget 4K/60Hz choices—not full 120Hz gaming TVs.

Best overall: Hisense U8QG. It accepts the PS5’s 4K/120Hz signal, supports VRR and ALLM, and provides three HDMI 2.1 ports in independent testing. Best value: a current US U7-series model with verified 4K/120Hz input. Best budget: a U6-series set only if 4K/60Hz is enough for you.

Model suffixes, ports and firmware vary by country and screen size. The recommendations below prioritize US buyers, but verify the exact US specification and retailer return policy before ordering.

Quick comparison

TV Best for Native refresh rate 4K/120Hz VRR/ALLM High-bandwidth HDMI inputs Main drawback
Hisense U8QG Best overall 144Hz/165Hz class, depending on size and specification Yes; independently tested Yes Three HDMI 2.1 ports reported by RTINGS HDR can look overbright; LCD blooming and off-angle washout remain possible
Current US U7 equivalent Best value 120Hz or faster, if confirmed for the exact US model Verify on the US specification sheet Should include VRR and ALLM on the appropriate model Verify port count and bandwidth Lower brightness and dimming performance than U8QG
Hisense U75N Clearance bargain 144Hz Yes, up to 4K/144Hz on specified inputs VRR, ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro Two HDMI 2.1 inputs Older processing and only two high-bandwidth ports
Hisense U7N Previous-generation sale pick Verify exact US size and suffix Conditional on the US specification Verify VRR and ALLM Verify layout and bandwidth Availability, warranty and firmware runway may be limited
Hisense U6-series Low-cost 4K/60Hz gaming Often 60Hz Not on the tested U6H Model-dependent Often HDMI 2.0 bandwidth Not suitable for dependable 4K/120Hz or competitive 120fps play

Specifications in this table refer to the named model or to a conditional model class; do not assume that an international U7Q, a US U7QG and a U7N share identical hardware.

The five best Hisense TVs for PS5

1. Hisense U8QG — best overall

The U8QG is the strongest all-round Hisense choice when you want a bright HDR picture and the PS5’s full gaming feature set. RTINGS’ testing confirms 4K/120Hz, 1440p/120Hz, HDMI Forum VRR and ALLM, with three HDMI 2.1 ports: RTINGS U8QG review.

Hisense 55" Class E6SR Series Hi-QLED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV (55E6SR, 2026 Model) - Dolby Vision, Game Mode Plus, VRR, ALLM, DTS Virtual:X, Apple AirPlay, Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant
  • HI - QLED COLOR: Vivid and authentic color brings every shade, scene, and skin tone to life exactly as it was meant to be seen. Hi-QLED technology delivers a picture so true-to-life, you'll feel like you're watching through a window, not a screen
  • DOLBY VISION: Discover the Dolby difference — a premium entertainment experience that helps you feel a deeper connection to the movies, shows, music, sports, and games you love. See what you’ve been missing with an immersive experience like no other
  • AI PICTURE WITH AI 4K UPSCALER: Upscale all your content to stunning 4K quality — from old favorites to new releases, advanced processing transforms everything you watch into crystal-clear 4K detail

  • HDR10 & HLG: With HDR10 and HLG, everything you watch looks more dynamic and detailed, with brighter highlights, deeper shadows, and clearer contrast across every scene
  • Why buy: Mini-LED contrast, high brightness for daytime rooms, 4K/120Hz support and unusually flexible port selection.
  • PS5 fit: Supports the console’s 120Hz performance modes and VRR when the correct input and settings are used.
  • Limitations: Testing notes that HDR can be overbrightened in some scenes. LCD blooming, narrower viewing angles and unit-to-unit quality variation are still possible.
  • Who should skip it: Players who only use 4K/60Hz, sit far off-axis, or would pay a large premium solely for the panel’s 165Hz headline.

TechRadar measured approximately 9.9ms input lag in its cited testing; that result is not directly comparable with Hisense’s specification claims because test methods and refresh rates differ: TechRadar 65-inch 4K TV coverage.

2. Current US U7 equivalent — best value

The U7 tier is the sensible middle ground for most PS5 owners. Choose the current US model only after confirming a native 120Hz-or-faster panel, genuine 4K/120Hz input, VRR, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on the exact size you plan to buy.

Hisense’s regional U7Q pages document HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM and approximately 7ms 4K/120Hz input latency, but those pages are not proof of US hardware: 65-inch U7Q specification and 75-inch U7Q specification.

  • AI SMOOTH MOTION WITH MEMC: Motion enhancement technology reduces blur and sharpens fast-moving scenes, keeping action crisp and easy to follow. From live sports to action movies and gaming, fast transitions stay smooth and comfortable to watch
  • Why buy: Usually delivers the key PS5 features at less than the U8 tier.
  • Trade-off: Expect lower peak brightness, fewer dimming zones and potentially more blooming than the U8QG.
  • Buying rule: If the US product page does not explicitly state 4K/120Hz and list the capable HDMI ports, do not infer support from “Motion Rate” branding.

3. Hisense U75N — best clearance or sale pick

The 2024 U75N remains attractive when clearance pricing is substantially below a current U7. Its US specification sheet lists a 144Hz native refresh rate, Game Mode Pro, VRR, ALLM, FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision and two HDMI 2.1 inputs supporting up to 4K/144Hz: Hisense U75N specification sheet.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Why buy: Mini-LED and local dimming plus enough bandwidth for PS5 4K/120Hz.
  • Important port detail: It has four HDMI inputs, but only two are HDMI 2.1; the other two are HDMI 2.0.
  • Skip when: Its price is close to a newer U7, or you need several high-bandwidth devices alongside a PS5 and eARC sound system.

4. Hisense U7N — best previous-generation value when heavily discounted

A US U7N can be a good buy if the exact listing confirms 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and the discount is meaningful. It is not interchangeable with every regional U7N.

  • Best use: A closeout purchase for shoppers willing to accept older processing and less certain inventory.
  • Check before paying: Screen-size-specific port layout, warranty term, firmware availability and return window.
  • Value test: If a current U7 costs only slightly more, choose the current model instead.

5. Hisense U6-series — best budget option for 4K/60Hz

Buy a U6 when minimizing cost matters more than 120Hz gaming. RTINGS found the U6H uses a 60Hz panel and HDMI 2.0 bandwidth, despite HDMI 2.1-related marketing, so it cannot exploit PS5 4K/120Hz: RTINGS U6H review.

  • NATIVE 144HZ REFRESH RATE: Fast breaks, high-speed chases, live finales — every frame stays crisp and fluid, so the action is always exactly where you need it to be. • ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
  • UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
  • Good for: Streaming, cinematic games and titles played at 30 or 60 frames per second.
  • Not good for: Competitive 120fps modes, PS5 Pro buyers seeking maximum flexibility, or anyone assuming “Motion Rate 120” means a 120Hz panel.

What a PS5 really needs from a TV

  • 4K resolution for the console’s standard output.
  • A native 120Hz panel for supported 120fps modes; 60Hz is sufficient for 4K/60Hz play.
  • At least one verified HDMI 2.1 input with enough bandwidth for 4K/120Hz.
  • VRR and ALLM for smoother frame-rate changes and automatic low-latency mode.
  • Low measured input lag in Game Mode.
  • Good HDR brightness, contrast and local dimming, not merely HDR format support.

HDMI 2.1 is not mandatory for every PS5 owner: HDMI 2.0 can deliver 4K/60Hz HDR. It becomes a practical requirement when you want 4K/120Hz, HDMI 2.1 VRR or the broadest feature set.

120Hz, 144Hz and 165Hz: what changes on PS5?

The PS5’s relevant maximum output for ordinary gameplay is 4K at 120Hz. A 144Hz or 165Hz TV does not make a PS5 game run at 144 or 165 frames per second. The extra headroom mainly benefits a gaming PC and may indicate a modern panel, but it should not justify a large premium by itself.

A 120Hz television also does not force every game to 120fps. Games may offer quality modes around 30fps, performance modes around 60fps, or optional 120fps modes at reduced resolution or visual settings.

HDMI ports, VRR and Dolby Vision

Choose the right HDMI socket

Ports are not automatically identical. One socket may support 4K/120Hz while another is limited to HDMI 2.0. eARC may also occupy a high-bandwidth port. One HDMI 2.1 input is technically enough for a PS5; two are more practical if you also use an Xbox, gaming PC or receiver.

VRR behavior matters more than the badge

VRR ranges, flicker and brightness changes vary by model. Independent testing is more useful than a checkbox on a product page. Sony supports VRR on compatible displays and offers Apply to Unsupported Games, but advises disabling it if games behave unexpectedly: Sony PS5 4K, 120Hz and VRR guide.

Dolby Vision is an extra

Dolby Vision can improve streaming and compatible external devices, but it is not the core PS5 requirement. Prioritize HDR10 performance, brightness, black-level control and accurate Game Mode behavior.

PS5 Pro considerations

PS5 Pro makes strong HDR, local dimming and VRR more valuable because enhanced games can expose a weak panel. It does not mean every game runs at 4K/120Hz. Sony documents 8K output as a special PS5 Pro mode requiring an 8K/60Hz display with Display Stream Compression; VRR is disabled during 8K output. For most buyers, a high-quality 4K/120Hz Mini-LED remains the practical target: Sony PS5 display guidance.

How to connect and configure a Hisense TV

  1. Connect the PS5 directly to a TV input explicitly rated HDMI 2.1 or 4K/120Hz.
  2. Use the PS5’s supplied cable or a certified Ultra High-Speed HDMI cable.
  3. If you use a soundbar or receiver, test the console directly into the TV first.
  4. Enable the TV’s Enhanced, High bandwidth or HDMI 2.1 mode if required.
  5. Turn on Game Mode or the TV’s low-latency mode.
  6. On PS5, open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output. Set Resolution to Automatic or 2160p, 120 Hz Output to Automatic, VRR to Automatic and ALLM to Automatic when available.
  7. Use Current Video Output Signal to verify resolution, HDR, VRR and refresh rate. Use Test 1440p Output if relevant.

If 4K/120Hz is missing or unstable

  1. Confirm the PS5 is connected directly to the TV’s capable port.
  2. Replace an uncertified or damaged cable with the included PS5 cable or an Ultra High-Speed cable.
  3. Update TV firmware and verify the input’s Enhanced mode.
  4. Set PS5 Resolution to Automatic or 2160p and Video Transfer Rate to Automatic.
  5. If flickering continues, try Video Transfer Rate at -1 or -2; this can limit 4K/120Hz but may stabilize the signal.
  6. Temporarily remove receivers, soundbars, HDMI switches and capture devices.
  7. Test with VRR disabled to isolate a handshake problem.

Size, room and return-policy checks

  • 55 inches: bedrooms, desks and closer seating.
  • 65 inches: the safest general living-room choice.
  • 75 inches or larger: most immersive, but only with suitable viewing distance and wall space.

Bright rooms favor the U8QG’s output. Dark rooms make blooming and black-level control more noticeable; OLED alternatives can perform better in those conditions. Wide seating exposes LCD viewing-angle limits. Check the exact size for anti-glare treatment because it can differ within a model family.

During the retailer’s return window, test for dead pixels, dirty-screen effect, vertical banding, excessive blooming, HDMI handshake failures, random restarts and uneven backlighting. Individual owner reports do not establish a failure rate, but a strong return policy reduces your practical risk.

Hisense alternatives worth comparing

TCL Mini-LED models often compete on value, LG OLED models offer deeper contrast and wider viewing angles, Sony emphasizes processing and PlayStation integration, and Samsung often emphasizes brightness. Compare the exact gaming ports, HDR behavior and preferred formats rather than buying on brand reputation alone.
