When does Gears of War: E-Day unlock?
The worldwide release is October 6, 2026, at 15:00 UTC, which is 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Eligible Premium Edition players received early access beginning October 1 at 15:00 UTC. Xbox says Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can join on October 6. Xbox’s release announcement provides the current timing.

Can your PC run Gears of War: E-Day?
Only if its GPU supports hardware ray tracing. The Coalition’s launch requirements make that a categorical requirement, not merely a feature for higher visual settings. Do upscaling features remove the ray-tracing requirement?
No. Xbox lists NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, Intel XeSS, and Advanced Shader Delivery on compatible hardware. Those are performance, responsiveness, or rendering features; Xbox does not say they let a PC bypass the stated hardware-ray-tracing requirement. The game is listed for Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam. Xbox also names cloud gaming through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW as access routes. Cloud play avoids relying on your local PC’s GPU in the same way local installation does, but availability and eligibility depend on the service and its current terms. Xbox’s platform listing identifies the supported platforms and cloud options.
