Android Headlines’ December 7, 2020 roundup named Cleaner for Android, All-in-One Toolbox, BGNMobi: Games Booster, Game Booster 4x Faster, Infolife LLC: Game Booster & Launcher, and Droid Optimizer. They were not six versions of the same fix: some focused on phone cleanup, some on background apps or launching, and one on game graphics settings. The roundup gave no comparative benchmarks, so its list is best read as a historical guide to what the apps claimed to do—not proof that they raised frame rates or reduced lag. Android Headlines’ original 2020 article
What a game booster can—and cannot—address
“Lag” can describe several different problems. Low frame rates and visual stutter concern how quickly the phone renders a game; network lag concerns the connection to the game server. Heat can also cause a phone to throttle performance, while background activity, low storage, or disruptive notifications can make play less convenient. These causes need different remedies.
- Frame rate and stutter: A game’s graphics settings, the phone’s hardware, and heat can all matter. A graphics tool may let a player reduce resolution or visual effects, but none of the six apps was shown in the roundup to improve FPS in measured tests.
- Network lag or ping: Clearing files or closing background apps does not resolve server distance or congested Wi-Fi. The article did not establish network-performance benefits for these apps.
- Background activity: A launcher or task-management feature may reduce interference in some situations. Force-closing apps does not add RAM, and Android may restart stopped processes, using resources again.
- Storage and clutter: Removing unnecessary files can help with device housekeeping, but it is not the same as increasing graphics capability.
- Heat: Closing other workloads may reduce activity, but a software feature labelled “CPU cooling” is not a physical cooler and is no proof of lower sustained temperatures.
The six apps below are described as they appeared in the December 2020 article. Its reported ratings are historical figures, not current ratings or evidence of performance. The article offered no device specifications, FPS or latency measurements, battery or thermal tests, privacy review, or selection method for its “top” list.
The six apps in the 2020 roundup
1. Cleaner for Android — general cleanup with a game-booster feature
Best fit: Someone looking for a general phone-maintenance utility rather than a dedicated game-performance tool.

The article described Cleaner for Android as offering unnecessary-file deletion, cache removal, battery optimization, and a game-booster module. It said the app could help with lag or unresponsive controls, but did not demonstrate those outcomes independently. Its reported Google Play rating was 4.8 at the time of the article; no rating date or review count was supplied.
Trade-off: Cleanup may address clutter, not weak hardware, high ping, or a game’s own performance limits. The roundup did not assess the app’s current permissions, ads, privacy practices, availability, or compatibility.
2. All-in-One Toolbox — a broad maintenance suite
Best fit: A user interested in a collection of phone utilities, including app management and battery-related features.
The 2020 article said All-in-One Toolbox had more than 30 tools, including speed boosting, battery optimization, CPU cooling, and app management. That “CPU cooling” description should be understood as a software feature marketed for workload or device management—not literal hardware cooling. The roundup supplied no thermal measurements. Its reported rating was 4.5, without a rating date or review count.
Rank #2

The lighting is vibrant yet eye-friendly. The built-in 600mAh battery provides up to 6 hours of battery life in brightness mode — enough for a full day of gaming
Trade-off: A broad toolset does not establish a gaming benefit, and closing apps can be temporary if Android restarts them. Current feature availability and app behavior have not been verified here.
3. BGNMobi: Games Booster — a dedicated booster with a root caveat
Best fit: A reader interested in a utility explicitly presented as a game booster and memory manager.
The article said BGNMobi aimed to make more RAM available for games and claimed it could reduce slowdowns and crashes. It also noted that rooted phones could receive additional advantages, but did not specify the operations involved, supported Android versions, or what those advantages meant in practice. The reported rating was 4.5, with no date or review count.
Trade-off: Root access is not a routine prerequisite to recommend for an ordinary booster. Rooting can complicate updates, security, warranty support, and app compatibility. Do not grant root privileges to an unfamiliar utility without first assessing its developer, permissions, code provenance, and recovery options.
Rank #3
- Expanded Screen Compatibility: Stretchable up to 213mm, fitting iPad Mini 6/7 and Android tablets; Compatible with iPhone 15/16 and Android devices; Ultra-stable Type-C connection ensures lag-free gaming across all supported screen

- Cushioned and Durable Membrane: The X5 Lite is equipped with cushioned and durable membrane triggers and buttons. The cushioned feedback provides a comfortable experience while ensuring quieter operation
4. Game Booster 4x Faster Free – GFX Tool Bug Lag Fix — graphics configuration
Best fit: A player trying to adjust game graphics or resolution, rather than simply clear storage or manage background apps.
This was the most technically distinct entry. The roundup described resolution and graphics-setting controls, one-touch optimization, and an auto-gaming mode, with an emphasis on FPS games. It reported a rating of 4.5, but did not provide a rating date or review count or test FPS gains.
Trade-off: Lowering resolution or visual quality may make a game look worse, and unsupported settings can cause instability or graphical problems. Compatibility can depend on the game, its version, the device, and the game’s rules. Use only settings the game permits; restore defaults if it crashes, displays corruption, or refuses to launch. The article did not verify compatibility with any particular game or current release.
5. Infolife LLC: Game Booster & Launcher — simpler game launching
Best fit: Someone who wants a straightforward place to launch games and a tool presented as managing background activity.
Rank #4
- Compatible with Android devices and fits mobile devices ranging from 100mm to 170mm in length.
- Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light and tactile.
- 2 Pro back paddle buttons
- Profile button. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings. Turbo function.
The 2020 article described this app as a simple launcher that aimed to free memory by closing or reducing background activity. It used terms such as “lag-free,” “faster,” and “smoother,” but supplied no measurements or explanation of which processes were affected—or whether Android would restart them. Its reported rating was 4.0, without a date or review count.
Trade-off: Easier access to games is a convenience; it is not proof of higher FPS. Aggressively stopping apps may also interrupt other activity or lead to restarts.
6. Droid Optimizer — general Android maintenance
Best fit: A user seeking cleanup and general device-maintenance features.
The article described Droid Optimizer as a maintenance utility with junk-file cleanup and a device-ranking system, and said it aimed to improve phone performance and speed up games. It reported a 4.4 rating and praised the app for having no annoying ads. Both the rating and advertising statement belong to that 2020 coverage; neither establishes the app’s current rating or ad policy.

| Problem or goal | Most relevant historical entry | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Unnecessary files or general clutter | Cleaner for Android or Droid Optimizer | Cleanup is housekeeping, not a demonstrated FPS increase. |
| A wide set of maintenance functions | All-in-One Toolbox | Its software “CPU cooling” feature was not backed by thermal testing. |
| A dedicated game-booster workflow | BGNMobi: Games Booster | Root-related advantages were not explained and are not a reason to root a phone casually. |
| Game resolution or graphics tuning | Game Booster 4x Faster | Settings may reduce image quality or be incompatible with a game. |
| A simple way to launch games | Infolife LLC: Game Booster & Launcher | Convenience does not establish a performance gain. |
| Heat, weak hardware, or high network latency | No app in the roundup was shown to solve these reliably | Diagnose the underlying cause rather than treating every symptom as a memory problem. |
What to try before installing a booster
- For low FPS or visual stutter: Lower the game’s graphics quality or resolution using settings the game itself exposes, then see whether play becomes steadier.
- For background interruptions: Close apps you do not need and use your phone’s built-in Do Not Disturb or gaming controls to quiet notifications.
- For storage pressure: Check available storage and remove files or apps you no longer need. Do not expect this alone to increase GPU performance.
- For heat-related slowdowns: Avoid playing when the phone is already excessively hot. Closing other workloads may help, but it cannot change the phone’s physical cooling design or the surrounding temperature.
- For online lag: Check whether Wi-Fi is stable; RAM cleanup is not a fix for a congested connection or distant server.
- For crashes: Update the game and Android where appropriate. Crashes can arise from bugs, incompatibility, corrupted data, or limited storage—not just memory pressure.
- If trying a utility: Review its permissions and developer information. Remove it if it causes crashes, intrusive pop-ups, unusual battery drain, or behavior you cannot explain.
What the 2020 list can—and cannot—tell you now
The roundup is useful as a record of six apps and their stated roles on December 7, 2020. It is not current app-buying guidance: the available information does not establish whether any is still on Google Play, what it costs now, which Android versions it supports, or what its present permissions, ads, privacy terms, and compatibility are. The listed ratings and “free” framing should not be carried forward as current facts.
More importantly, the source gave no comparative testing procedure. It does not explain how the apps were selected or show that one outperformed another. Treat each feature description as a historical claim, not a measured result.
