Amazon Luna stopped selling individual games and third-party subscriptions on April 10, 2026. Luna streaming access to games bought through EA, GOG, and Ubisoft ended on June 10, but those licenses remain in the linked store accounts. Luna now centers on subscription libraries and GameNight rather than buying games to stream.
What changed on Luna, and when?
Amazon said Luna would stop offering game stores, individual game purchases, and third-party subscriptions starting April 10, 2026. The change removed integrations with EA, Ubisoft, and GOG, and ended Luna sales of Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games subscriptions. Existing a-la-carte purchases and active third-party subscription benefits remained playable through Luna until June 10, 2026. MobileSyrup reported the announcement and dates.

The dates refer to different parts of the change: storefront sales ended first, then existing access to purchases and subscription benefits ended, while Bring Your Own Library ended a week earlier.
Can you still play games you bought through Luna?
You can still access a purchased game through the account that holds its license, but you can no longer stream it through Luna. Games bought via Luna’s EA, GOG, or Ubisoft integrations remain accessible through the linked EA App, GOG Galaxy, or Ubisoft Connect account, respectively. The purchase did not become a Luna-only license; what ended was Luna’s role as a way to play those games. PC Gamer explains the loss of Luna access and the end of Bring Your Own Library.

Check the original store account if a game is missing: Luna’s removal does not transfer a license to a different account. The continued license also does not mean the game is included in another subscription or available for cloud streaming elsewhere.
What happened to saves and Bring Your Own Library?
Amazon allowed affected Luna save data to be downloaded for 90 days after June 10, 2026. It warned that it could not guarantee downloaded saves would work with other gaming services. A save file may therefore be available to keep without being usable in the PC or cloud version of the same game.

Bring Your Own Library, which let players stream certain games connected to third-party storefront accounts, ended June 3, 2026. Owning an eligible PC game still does not, by itself, provide Luna streaming access now that the feature is gone.
What can you play on Luna now?
Amazon’s September 21, 2026 explainer describes Luna as a service built around two subscription tiers and GameNight. Amazon’s Luna overview lists Luna Standard as included with Prime and Luna Premium at $9.99 per month. Those models provide access through libraries, not permanent individual game purchases through Luna.

Third-party games can still appear in subscription libraries. PC Gamer cited EA FC 26, Madden, Fallout, and Death Stranding among examples in Luna Premium, but subscription catalogs change; check the current Luna listing for a game before subscribing. Amazon describes its direction as “doubling down on a broad range of gaming experiences, including strong third-party titles, delivered in ways that make great games more accessible, as well as new and unique gaming experiences like GameNight.”

Luna Standard is included with Prime. Luna Premium is listed by Amazon at $9.99 per month. In either case, availability depends on the games currently in the relevant library; access through a subscription is distinct from owning a separate copy.

GameNight
GameNight is a local multiplayer collection. Players can use phones as controllers, so a dedicated game controller is not required for that experience. This phone-as-controller option is specific to GameNight; most other Luna games require a controller or mouse and keyboard.

Amazon lists Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPhone and iPad through a web app, Android devices, selected Samsung and LG TVs, and selected Comcast and Rogers devices as supported. Amazon recommends an internet connection of at least 10 Mbps for the best experience. Amazon’s Luna device and setup information has the platform details.

For controller-based Luna games, Amazon lists its Luna Controller, Xbox controllers, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers, and the Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller as compatible options. Mouse and keyboard are also an option for games that support them. Amazon lists the Luna Controller at $69.99 and describes Cloud Direct technology and a multi-antenna design intended to reduce latency; check Amazon for current price and availability. Amazon’s controller compatibility information covers supported inputs.
- For GameNight, use a phone as the controller.
- For other Luna games, use a compatible controller or, where supported, a mouse and keyboard.
- A dedicated Luna Controller is not required if you already have a compatible Xbox or PlayStation controller.
What the change means for players
Luna no longer works as a storefront or a general streaming route into games owned at EA, GOG, or Ubisoft. A purchased license remains with its original linked account, but continued play depends on using that store’s supported access rather than Luna. On Luna itself, players now rely on changing subscription libraries or choose GameNight for phone-controlled local multiplayer. Save portability is a separate issue: downloaded Luna data may not work in another service.
